Totally misread the schedule. November 13, not November 3. So an extra 10 days for preparation.

 

I think we will be better than last year, and would be disappointed if we are anything less than 8-4 going into conference play. I will certainly do my part in getting as many students to the games as possible.

So, if I'm remembering correctly, Jarvis Christian (11/13) is an exhibition, and Texas College (11/16) is technically the season opener.  Am I getting this right?  Meangreensports.com doesn't seem to differentiate exhibition from regular season on the schedule.

last I heard both were season games. At basketball madness Benfird said the first game of the season is 11-13 and we already had a scrimmage against TCU.

Ah, it seems that you're right.  Odd, so just an informal scrimmage but no official exhibition this year?

I guess.... Maybe they change it to an exhibition, but that is not the way the game is being advertised.

I don't believe that the NCAA allows a game against a NAIA team to count in their win-loss record therefore I'd tend to believe that Jarvis Christian College is an exhibition game.

yeah, though there is a maximum number of games that can be played and they do not factor in games against non D1 teams when it comes to the postseason.

Usually games against NAIA are exhibitions.

well the hc job for the football team has taken the spot light off Benford.  Is this Benford 3rd year as HC?  So we should see results this year?

This will be his fourth year. He better win! I am liking the recruits lately, but we need to win now.

That's great! They were knocking down shots left and right at basketball madness. Hopefully the men and women can give us fans some hope! Frustrating going into another year with an unused scholarship on the team....
