Riley Dodge at Marcus High School

Does anybody have a quick story on this guy's departure from UNT? Was it on bad terms or something?

I also thought he was becoming an assistant coach at Texas for some reason?

His dad got fired and he transferred after the season. Not sure that it was bad terms, but he didn't want to stick around after his dad was fired.

Saw this looking at my old high school football team. Riley Dodge is the QB coach there. Did you guys know this? He listed his college as McNeese State.

He did graduate from McNeese State.

NT is well represented on Marcus' coaching staff. I hope Riley doesn't hate us because he had a great deal of school spirit here before his dad got the axe. If he does hate us, I hope as he grows older, he will understand the nature of the business, and understand it was time for his dad to go.

His dad should've never been hired in the first place. He should be thankful NT gave his dad a chance to be a head coach, in turn giving him his shot to be a FBS QB. Otherwise, he would've been a WR or safety anywhere else.

With that said, I was sad to see him go because he was tough as nails. I thought he was the best QB option here if he could manage to stay on the field.

I think as long as Chico is here, we have an ally in Riley.  He has major respect for Chico.

Here is another problem...

The Head Coach, Gerry Stamford, although going to North Texas lists his favorite college team as LSU.

The same goes for Ass't Coach Anderson who went to NT but is a fan of TCU.

Coach Martinez went to NT but didn't choose a favorite college team.

But my favorite coach at Marcus, and our only fan there obviously is TYLER FLOYD.  Alum and still a NT fan.  Does anyone know anything about Tyler Floyd ?  The name doesn't ring a Mean Green bell with me.  Maybe he didn't play college football.

Thanks Coach Floyd.
