UNT offensive line breakdown: Mean Green in rebuild mode

s the 2015 football season approaches, we will look at each position on the Mean Green’s roster. UNT’s offensive line is up today.

A look at UNT’s pecking order:

Michael Banogu
Ryan Rentfro

Left guard
Sam Rice
Avery Fortenberry

Center
Kaydon Kirby
Creighton Barr

Right guard
Brian Ochs
Connor Trussell

Right tackle
Chris Miles
Micah Thompson

I think you'll see a much more athletic o-line than last years group.  We were big but just too slow in my opinion.

100% comfortable/confident in C, LG, RT.  

Feel pretty good about LT since we saw quite a bit of Banogu late last year.  Hopefully, he can produce at an even higher level this year.  

RG is going to be key.  Need Ochs to be a player.

This is Mac's specialty--developing strength on the lines. Last year's veteran OL really disappointed, but I think that defenses stuffing the box with 8-9 defenders was the undoing of the veteran OL, knowing that the QB wouldn't be able to handle it.

I expect that this bunch will get better as the year goes on, but that 2016 and 2017 will be the years to see the OL really shine again.
