Louisiana Tech schedules P5 at home in 2021

Baylor football has scheduled a three-game series with Louisiana Tech from 2020 to 2022; 2020 & 2022 at Baylor; 2021 at LT.

Granted it's a 2-for-1 and there are many on here who don't want us playing 2fers, but you gotta admit a 2 for 1 is better than 3 bodybag games or *gasp* a 2-for-0 like we have with Iowa

Because you bring a program to the UNT campus that makes alumni say "wow, UNT is playing them in Denton? Maybe they are finally taking football seriously."

And no, 2 for 1s ain't whorin', but I do think an effective scheduler could get a 1 and 1and not have to do a 2 for 1.

But, like many have said, a 2 for 1 is better than whorin 2 years up in Iowa with nothing but money and sore body parts to show for it.

Scheduling 2-1 is different for whorin' how exactly? Because you are willing to go 0-3 for free makes it better? Am I understanding it correctly?

1-1 or it's no different that playing a payday game. Otherwise, we are just talking price.

Yes, let NT load up on 1-2's and demand at least 6 home games.

This could work for us and we could still have 6 home games every year. Here's how.

Assuming this format remains for our OOC scheduling:

- 1 away game at a P5 for a big check to play 1 game (bodybag game)

- 1 home game against an FCS school where we pay them to come in for 1 game

- 2 home and homes with 1 at home and 1 away each year

The Army series ends in 2021. Then, in 2022, we could start a 2 for 1 against a P5 team (that we would have a shot against). In 2022 we would go there and host SMU that year. In 2023 we would go to SMU and host that P5 team in the 2 for 1, and then in 2024 we would hose SMU and play away against the P5 team to complete the 2-1. Then, in 2025, we start a new home and home deal with someone and we start that series at home, and play SMU away that year. Then those two still alternate. And, of course, in all those year we're still playing an FCS at home and taking a check to play at a P5 for a bodybag game.

Or we could just get a home and home with a school like Purdue,Colorado or Kansas. Or still go more years without bringing in a P5 to Apogee.

Thank you for having the energy. You simply have to know how to schedule football games, negotiate properly, and above all else, PLAN your schedule. Edited by UNT90

I'm starting to think the naysayers might be right about RV's inability to schedule good programs. Army and SMU are great but outside of that it's pretty awful. UNT has the facilities and location. There are no excuses left.

RV is against scheduling 2-for-1 series, so that takes a lot of P5 opponents off the market.

RV is a firm supporter of the whore game EVERY year, sometimes twice a year.

That takes a lot of P5 opponents off the market, for a home game at least.

In 2017 we better see a P5 opponent in Apogee.

I hate to break it to you, Ben, but you most definitely will NOT be seeing a P5 in Apogee in 2017, or even 2018 for that matter. The non-conference schedules for 2017 and 2018 have already been announced...

2 for 1 scheduled against a good P5. OK, the only reason it's a 2 for 1 is the other program is obviously considered the better school and we have to give up something. They get 2 games at home, we get 1. We get no money, 3 possible ass whippings, one at home.

Body bag game= 1 guaranteed ass whipping on the road, but a bunch of money. And if done right, a home game we buy and easy victory if front of the fans. 1-1 record with a little money.

only legitimate issue with the scheduling is 5 home games and the bye at the beginning. All this P5 talk is pointless unless it's a 1 and 1. and if it is a 1 and 1, it needs to be against a team we have a chance of beating at home. if not, may as well get paid.
