  1. IRVING – North Texas senior running back Jeffery Wilson earned Offensive Player of the Week honors, while senior kicker Trevor Moore was named Special Teams Player of the Week following their standout performances in the Mean Green’s win over UAB this past week, Conference USA announced Monday. C-USA Players of the Week are voted on by a panel of the league’s media members. http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/092517aab.html
  2. DENTON, Texas - Certain positions within programs can easily be overlooked or taken for granted. In some cases, that distinction falls on kickers. North Texas has one of the greatest the program has ever had, and one of the best in the country in senior Trevor Moore. The Edmond native is a perfect 99-for-99 on extra points, and holds the school record for field goal percentage (75.0%) through the first three years of his career. In total, Moore sits atop seven statistical categories in school history heading into his final season in Denton. In addition to field goal percentage in a single season as well as career and most consecutive extra points made, Moore also is the leader in extra point percentage in a single season as well as career (100%), extra points made in a single game (11 against Nicholls in 2014) and field goals made in a single game (five against SMU in 2014). "I've always been grateful for the success that I've had so far since I've been here at North Texas," Moore said. "I wouldn't be able to do it without the trust from my teammates and the coaches. Leading in seven categories is a great honor and really means a lot to me as an individual, but I wouldn't have these honors if it wasn't for the guys around me pushing me every day to be better. I know my position can help the team win games and that's what it is really all about, helping the team any way that I can." read more: http://www.edmondsun.com/sports/moore-is--for--in-extra-points-at-north/article_2fd491b8-601d-11e7-979e-8bac7e318b09.html

  4. A long day of kicking was coming to a close for Trevor Moore in the summer of 2013 when longtime mentor Jamie Kohl asked him to come through one final time. Moore had encountered pressure situations in games. It comes with the territory for a kicker, but this was different. Moore was on the turf at Apogee Stadium with the prying eyes of a big chunk of the North Texas coaching staff looking on. Coach Dan McCarney was there. So were special teams coordinator Tommy Perry and offensive coordinator Mike Canales, lined up to see the final round of competition at kicking camp and Moore, the player they all had their eye on. 7. Trevor Moore is well aware of just how hard it can be to land a scholarship for even the best of high school kickers. Many start out as walk-ons in college, looking to land a starting job and the scholarship that often goes along with it. Moore received an offer from North Texas up front over the weekend and immediately jumped on the opportunity to commit to the Mean Green. The Edmond (Okla.) North standout participated in a Kohl’s kicking camp at UNT prior to Friday Night Lights, the program’s final camp of the summer for high school players. “That was pretty cool that they were willing to offer me a scholarship,” Moore said. “A lot of kickers have to wait until after their senior seasons. I wanted to jump on it.” New Mexico and Arkansas State had also shown interest in Moore. Oral commitments are non-binding. The first day recruits in the class of 2014 can sign national letters of intent is Feb. 5. Moore enters his senior season as one of the top kicking prospects in the nation. ESPN and the website Kohl’s Kicking both rate Moore No. 22 on their lists of the top kickers in the class of 2014. Jamie Kohl, one of the founders of Kohl’s Kicking, kicked at Iowa State under current UNT head coach Dan McCarney.
