North Texas' athletic programs are classified as NCAA Division I, the largest and highest division among all colleges and universities. The 46,000 square-foot Athletic Center located off South Bonnie Brae Street is the centerpiece of North Texas athletics. Athletics strives to conduct a competitive athletics program that promotes faculty, staff, student and community affiliation and participation with North Texas Athletics. Also, to provide facilities which attract the highest level of talent and allow student athletes to perform at the highest level in practice and in competition. The Athletics Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Director of Development to join our team. This position will be responsible for securing private support for the University's athletic programs through cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, with an emphasis on annual fund gifts. Position will work within the Denton community, as well as the entire DFW Metroplex to enhance the image of the athletic department and university by continual assistance in interdepartmental networking and relationship building. List of Key Activities: * Primary focus will be on the development of relationships with UNT alumni and other donors, specifically targeting gifts in the $1K to $10K range. * Leverage all available University and Athletic Department resources and assets (i.e. tickets, premium seating, parking, event attendance, etc.) to identify, cultivate, and solicit fundraising support. * Manage a portfolio of Mean Green Club annual fund donors. * Assist in the development and implementation of strategy to grow membership for the Mean Green Club. * Oversee all Mean Green hospitality and special events for the department. * Maintain the MGC website and develop strategic initiatives to solicit new donors and communicate with current MGC donors (includes social media, weekly emails, etc.). * Assist with the growth of the annual fund membership base, daily. processing of gifts, organizing the content of the Mean Green Club website. * Coordinate alumni and donor events with the North Texas Alumni Association. * Proactively represents UNT Athletics at external events in order to identify prospects and grow network of support. * Creation of comprehensive stewardship campaigns and personalized materials and assisting with solicitation materials. * Comply with all NCAA, Conference USA, University, and Athletic department rules and regulations. * Proactively represents UNT Athletics at external events in order to identify prospects and grow network of support. * Perform other duties as assigned. The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: * Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external constituents. * Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. * Possess strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
