  1. When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005, Todd Eaglin and his family were forced to evacuate the Crescent City. Eaglin’s life was turned upside down. The family eventually settled in the Houston area, and Eaglin grew to love his new surroundings. Since leaving Louisiana, Eaglin’s journey has taken him from The Woodlands Christian Academy to Tyler Junior College. And now he will head to Denton, as the Apaches’ standout point guard signed a basketball letter of intent to attend the University of North Texas. “I’m thankful Coach (Mike) Marquis gave me an opportunity,” said Eaglin, who was a standout in baseball, football and basketball in high school. “Coach Mike is a really great guy. He has helped me through this whole process. I can’t thank him enough. Coach Marquis’ main goal is for us to get our degree. “Coming here has made me a harder worker. In high school, everything was kind of given to me, but at TJC you had to work.” - See more at: http://www.etfinalscore.com/ET-Basketball/198301/tjcs-eaglin-signs-with-north-texas#sthash.eR9aGsyW.dpuf
