One of the notable absences last night at the last stop of the Mean Green coaches caravan last night was the UNT football assistant coaches. There was a good reason. They were all on the road in the spring recruiting period, seeing players across the state. It wasn’t really a news tidbit, so I didn’t include it last night when I went through what was said, but Dan McCarney did talk a bit about focusing on the Dallas area and then spreading out from there, looking for players. The offers continue to go out. Offensive lineman Christian Beard of Waco Midway and athlete Kaelin DebOoski of Tucson (kind of random) are two of the more recent offers that have popped up. The move to Conference USA should make a big difference for UNT in terms of bringing in more talent in 2014.
