Remember Brock Berglund, the standout quarterback from Valor Christian? Well, Berglund may also be a Bear after originally committing to the University of Colorado, transferring to the University of Kansas and eventually landing at North Texas. Do the math, and Berglund has two years of eligibility but this would also be his fourth school in three years — those situations don’t usually work out. Realize, verbal commitments are just that — verbal. A student-athlete can change his mind between now and next month, and in a lot of cases, they do. Most figure they’re NCAA Division I-A material and have to be told so by such schools. However, the offers haven’t come because those schools have the player further down on their recruiting list and are awaiting commitments from the no-brainer recruits. Stay tuned.
