  1. Terri Cuffie sat behind the North Texas bench at Halton Arena earlier this season, holding one of the few people in the stands wearing Mean Green apparel. One-year-old Anthony Williams watched attentively during that game in Charlotte, N.C., back in January, his green UNT sweatshirt pulled over a black T-shirt, as his father, Alzee Williams, sprinted up and down the floor in a game the Mean Green lost on a buzzer-beating dunk. Seeing Terrence Williams slam home the game winner was tough for the Mean Green, but Alzee Williams, a senior guard, had a smile spread across his face as he stood holding his son, tears streaming down his face, after the final horn.   2. The UNT men’s basketball team plays UAB at home tonight. I chatted with Alzee Williams for a few minutes about where UNT stands heading into the game in the video at the top of this blog. UNT is 1-3 in Conference USA play, but has played well at times in league play. The Mean Green had its game at Charlotte in its last outing all but wrapped up before it quit scoring for about the last five minutes of the game.   3. Just when you thought it couldnt get any worse for the UNT men, it has in fact gotten worse. Alzee Williams went down with at least a sprained right knee late in UNTs loss to FIU on Thursday.
