  2. For those who are not able to make the SMU home game, we will have the chat room open before, during and after to discuss the game. If you can't be there, the chat room is a lot of fun as you can discuss the game with other fans. It really is the next best thing to being there in person. Just click the link here: http://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/chat/ You can listen to the audio of the game here: http://kntu.com The chat room requires you to be registered... I know that 75% of our visitors are not yet registered on the site and I encourage you to do so. It is totally free, we do not spam or fill up your email box and it is extremely easy to set up your account (you can use twitter and/or facebook accounts already set up). 3. SMU fans crying about it, but frankly I am glad they did this as it will make them get off their butts and attend the game. Same for our fans. Good move. read more: http://www.ponyfans.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=82233&sid=490e952abceacacc9bfd83b89155d8ff
  4. Amid all the talk about a defense-heavy freshman class this spring and summer, SMU head coach Chad Morris called out several experienced defensive players to prove themselves. Some of them did, and they are listed as starters for Saturday’s season opener vs. North Texas. At SMU’s media day on Tuesday, Morris and defensive coordinator Van Malone lauded senior Nick Horton’s transition from linebacker to defensive end. After three years at linebacker, he is listed as a starter at defensive end. As a linebacker, Horton struggled. He started the first four games of 2015, but hardly played afterward. He has only 16 career tackles in three seasons. Now he is back to the position he played in high school. “Nick has done a great job in the spring and in the summer and he it has shown up in fall camp,” Malone said. “Nick was all for this move. And for us, it was an opportunity to get a guy who works hard, who loves the game, who gives great effort and who wants to contribute to a place where he can be successful. And moving him to defensive end has proven so far to be exactly the thing that has helped him.” In his first spring practice press conference earlier this year, Morris challenged senior defensive tackle Zelt Minor to live up to his status as a highly touted recruit. Five-and-a-half months later, Minor is one of SMU’s starting defensive tackles. read more: http://www.smudailycampus.com/sports/veteran-defenders-answer-call-earn-starting-spots-for-smu
  5. On North Texas-SMU rivalry: "This is my second year in it. From talking to everybody around it, this has been a rivalry for quite some time. I don't know the consistency of the scheduling of SMU and North Texas has been. I think they've been on and off and on and off. But to have these two teams on the schedule for the next several years is good. It's good for both communities, it's good for the city of Dallas and for our areas. It's good for high school football in this state and in this part of Dallas. I'm excited about it. I know Coach (Seth) Littrell is a phenomenal coach. He's extremely gifted in his offensive schemes, and he's been around some phenomenal head coaches. I think he's excited about his first go about it. The only difference between he and I is I'm about 21 months ahead of him." read more: http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/college-sports/smumustangs/2016/08/29/chad-morris-smu-unt-rivalry-expectations-qb-matt-davis
  6. The first year of the Chad Morris era at SMU didn't exactly go as planned. SMU showed flashes of potential, but the Mustangs mustered just victories and finished near the bottom of the American Athletic Conference standings. Still, there is plenty of optimism moving forward. Morris has hit the recruiting trail hard, especially in the state of Texas, reeling in back-to-back classes filled with potential difference makers. Morris has also instilled a new attitude and has the Ponies believing they can win. He is slowly changing the culture on the Hilltop. On the field, SMU returns senior quarterback Matt Davis and stud wide receiver Courtland Sutton, who earned a number of preseason accolades after a breakout freshman campaign. The defense was downright awful a year ago but should be much improved with an influx of young talent and a familiarity with the system. If SMU can grow up quickly, the Mustangs will have an opportunity to open some eyes this season. 7. So SMU is being mentioned as a possible Big 12 addition. The Texas Attorney General and others have shown support for your candidacy. How about you show the Big 12 how well your fans support the program through your attendance to games? Last time we played you in Denton it was frankly embarrassing how few fans you brought. There were plenty of excuses like the game time being too early, the heat, June Jones. Programs that are looking to move up the food chain don't make these type of petty excuses. We brought a respectable crowd to the Hilltop last year, so now is a good time to repay us. This is essentially a home game for you guys. You can do better than 150 fans!
  8. I am pretty confident we will sell out our allotment at the very least for this one. Read more: http://www.ponyfans.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=81809
