  1. From FootballScoop Georgia: Inside linebackers coach / co-special teams coordinator Mike Ekeler is leaving the staff to pursue another opportunity as a defensive coordinator. Ekeler will not coach Georgia in their bowl game. Will update… Could it be??
  2. Who will be the recruiting coordinator? To me that is an EXTREMELY critical position on this staff. Needs Texas ties, needs to be organized and also a good salesman. My hope is that this position will be elevated in the new regime and not treated as window dressing. We need an aggressive guy who has some strong connections in this area and state.
  3. All of Littrell's staff thus far seem to be around his age or younger. Does he need a more mature assistant to join him on the battlefield? Coach Genero had Coach Wally Riggendorf who he relied on for his experience and helped guide him in the down times. Thoughts?
  4. This article gives a good analysis on our new head coach. Shows a good breakdown of how he's affected offenses at his last three schools. http://www.underdogdynasty.com/2015/12/11/9890776/meet-north-texas-head-coach-seth-littrell
  5. I spoke to a friend of mine from Muskogee who shared with me that Seth was a state champion wrestler in Oklahoma. His dad Jim was as well. So we should add yet another impressive accolade to this guys resume.
  6. Currently the OL coach and co offensive coordinator at Troy. Had a good run at La. Tech before that under Holtz. Key to all this is he coached the OL at Tech while Littrell was running backs coach there and they had good teams. Would he leave Troy to rejoin Littrell? Does Littrell want to bring in a guy who isn't from and hasn't been recruiting Texas lately? Interesting. http://www.troytrojans.com/coaches.aspx?rc=806&path=football http://www.latechsports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/matt_moore_837310.html http://www.texastech.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/moore_matt00.html
  7. To celebrate a new era in UNT Football I think we should honor the past in the opening home game next season. And I think the Alumni Pavilion could a small expansion and minor improvements. Can we get the Alumni Pavilion renamed for Odus Mitchell and announce the name change and expansion plans next September? If you need a history lesson (like I did) here is a link below. For this I might show up for debut of the Seth Littrell era at UNT. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odus_Mitchell

  9. Will Seth Littrell hire any Texas high school coaches for his staff at North Texas? It’s becoming a trend in the area. Last offseason, three Texas high school coaches moved up to full-time FBS jobs in the area: Jeff Traylor at Texas, Claude Mathis at SMU and Corby Meekins at Houston. There are also numerous recruiting and support roles where high school coaches are breaking in. Littrell joined Dan Campbell’s Texas Football Live and was asked if high school coaches will be considered for his staff. “Absolutely. I definitely have an idea of why my staff is going to look like,” he said. “There wi
  10. Took a few pics this afternoon when Coach Seth Littrell came and met us in the new Union. Mr. and Mrs. Littrell laughing, having a good time! You can tell he doesn't like being talked about that much. I think he's a "Down to business" dude. Quality of this one is not nearly as good, but that's because it's a phone pic. I got to meet the dude. Coach Littrell is a really cool guy. I think fans are going to love him!
  11. Not the biggest fan of Capper, but this statement is beautiful to see. Exactly what should be happening
  12. I believe he has and OC and a DC picked out..
  13. Completely different atmosphere than what we saw when Mac was hired. He seems well grounded and very focused. Gave respect to his former coaches but did not dwell on it. Seems like a look forward type of guy that just doesn't have time for skepticism. He is not a professional speaker but is thoughtful of each question and that makes him seem more sincere. He seems to think about his responses to questions versus canned cliches. You just get the feeling the guy is going places and it makes you want to be a part of it. This will not be his last stop but that is ok if he makes us better
  14. 1). Consistently competing in and winning football games. We got a taste of this in 2013. This will not happen overnight, but I do expect to see us have a much better 2016 season. 2). Getting a signature win. We had a good first half against Georgia in 2013, but truthfully - this program has not seen a signature win since the Tennessee win back in the Fry era. This has to happen at some point if we expect to jump start our fan following. 3). Fill Apogee. This is an albatross hanging over the neck of the program right now. If Littrell could make it happen it would be a defining moment
  15. While I have a feeling I'm probably the only Jew on this board, I would like to wish Mean Green Nation a Happy Hanukkah. I feel it very apt that on this first night of the Festival of Lights, the man upstairs (or some rich donors, whichever your beliefs) granted us a man whose offense is designed to "light" up the scoreboard in Coach Littrell. Looking forward to the day where we in Mean Green Nation can state the same message that is on a dreidel (the spinning top compulsive Jewish gamblers bet with instead of the sports books) which is 4 letters that are an abbreviation of the phrase that in
  16. This is interesting for our Athletic Department: The North Texas Athletic Department is pleased to announce Seth Littrell as the 19th head football coach for the Mean Green! The Mean Green Club, Letterman’s Association and the Athletic Department would like you, as a former player, to have the opportunity to meet the new coach before he is introduced to the public. There will be an exclusive meet and greet held in the Apogee Hub Club on Monday, December 7, from 11:00AM till noon. Please share this information with your former teammates and other former players. This event is for former pla
  17. This was seen heading into Denton on I35E. A great way to welcome our new coach into town. Thanks go out to BG for getting me this shot!

  18. Every year, we find out about QB's who have graduated with their degree but still have one year of eligibility left and can immediately transfer to an FBS program. La. Tech has done this twice now, and UAB had one the year before. It CHANGES program fortunes in C-USA. It is honestly the biggest game changer you can have. My guess is that we will see something similar here with Littrell. He will find a guy who can run this offense while trying to recruit the best freshman he can find.
