  2. Heart of Dallas Bowl UNLV vs. North Texas, Jan. 1: A young Fort Bend group plays for North Texas, but sophomore linebacker Jamal Marshall (Elkins), freshman defensive back Chad Davis (Bush), freshman receiver Darvin Kidsy (Elkins) and freshman offensive lineman Dominick Walker (Austin) are getting playing time. Kidsy has played all 12 games for the Mean Green, amassing 16 receptions for 151 yards. Marshall has played in 11 games, recording 17 tackles, while Davis has played in nine with three tackles. UNT ranks fifth out of 10 teams in the Sun Belt Conference with an average of 251.5 passing yards allowed a game. 4. I wrote a little about UNT’s latest commit — Fort Bend Bush cornerback Chad Davis — earlier in the day and picked up a couple of other recruiting tidbits in the process. UNT has three scholarships left to give at this point. Figuring out all the ins and outs when it comes to 85 scholarships and 25 per class is a lot more complicated than one would think it is when you start counting players back to previous classes who transfer in at semester and figuring in junior college players, not to mention high school players and walk-ons who are put on scholarship.
