UNT men’s basketball coach Tony Benford said this afternoon that DeAndre Harris will not play for the Mean Green in their game against Louisiana Tech on Thursday, but he could be back in time for a game against Southern Miss on Saturday. UNT has outlined some tasks it wants Harris to complete before he returns after being tossed twice in the span of four games before being suspended indefinitely. UNT could really use Harris, who is a threat offensively when he is on.   2. Conference USA media days has wrapped up. But before I go to the wrap-up festivities, here are a few thoughts. There is an aura of confidence when it comes to both the UNT men’s and women’s teams, but both are going to depend on a host of newcomers and players coming off injuries. Tony Benford sees J-Mychal Reese as a huge difference-maker at point guard and really played up his overall abilities. He is also developing into a leader for the team.
