  1. At this point, I do not believe we will get a transfer in until after the Spring semester. In this system, I am surprised there has not been more interest. Hopefully, I am wrong.
  2. The only part of this I'm afraid I have to disagree with is that this board does not show which poster is making the emoji vote. Don't run across this on many sites.
  3. By any chance, does he also do kickoffs? I hope we can replace our ability to put almost every kickoff in the back of the end zone and avoid returns.
  4. And to add insult to injury, he flunked out** before the bowl game. ** maybe he didn't flunk out, but he was academically ineligible for the bowl game.
  5. Just wondering ..... How many will not win the starting job at their new school? With all the moves, will we see another large group transferring in the Spring Portal of players who got beat out or bumped down the depth chart?
  6. 100 % true. Players are given access to "easier" classes; if they are full, exceptions are made to get them in. I spoke to a counselor once regarding a note on one of the classes my son was trying to take, and she said that they had to hold spots for the athletic department for a certain amount of time as they were "projected" to be needed by players. Again, as you said, it's how it works.
  7. I would say there is enough greed to blame both sides. The schools and the players care about what they feel is best for them, and if you think either side gives a damn about fans (other than wanting them to spend their money), you are mistaken. For these university presidents to even say "student-athletes" is a joke. Also, many of these players are willing to hop from school to school, so I find it hard to think getting an education is a high priority for many.
  8. With our current depth at QB, he might need to help with throwing practice routes in practice for the Spring. 😱
  9. I'm not sure how much difference it makes with academic eligibility, but I wonder what percentage of online classes the players are taking. Also, golf and softball/baseball teams have traveled all over the place for years, especially early in the year; I am guessing they have a reference point to plan.
  10. Both sides now view this as a strict business decision. Players will come and go as they please and teams will no longer keep around players that they do not believe will contribute. I have a feeling at some point in the future we will look back and find out that just as many players were hurt by this process as benefited by the process.
  11. At some point, I believe one of the mods posted that a "ray" is the same as a double upvote. If we're going to add a new vote, I would like to see one for why this topic is posted in this forum emoji and an SMU sucks emoji.
  12. Similar to when Kinne took a lod of players with him from UIW to Texas State. I also believe the new UTEP coach took a few players from his old team.
  13. #4 if a post is generating enough clicks it will have much more leniency to stay where it does not belong
  14. Morris is close enough to come over still and "unofficially" throw with the receivers and meet with the coaches. The risk for him or others who cannot come in the Spring will be if we find another transfer that can be here.
  15. They also do not permit tampering. Call it what you want, it's pay-for-play
  16. I'm not sure if you're being serious or sarcastic.
  17. Sometimes you have to play the game. IMO, making offers this far out is strange.
  18. Offhand, the QB from Denton (Sanders) who was at Oklahoma State. Transferred to Ole Miss and rode the bench. There were some others I will try to remember.
  19. You're correct with your comments; however, there seem to be more important things for some players (not saying right or wrong, just saying how it looks) than the ability to be developed. For some of these players, the bottom line is NIL money. Look at quarterbacks willing to transfer from starting roles to be backups at other schools. There also seem to be some players who want the experience of playing at the power level.
  20. I think he's the one they put in when they needed to run
  21. Better than Texas getting beat, Mac drops a million https://www.foxnews.com/sports/texas-supporter-mattress-mack-loses-big-after-longhorns-fall-washington-cfp-semifinal-game
  22. I believe he is a Soph. - Hornsby is the one transferring out.
  23. One thing to remember: If the QB is coming in as a Graduate transfer, they might have to wait until the summer to finish at their current school.
  24. It is based on being accepted and enrolled in classes. I guess the stretch date would be when late enrollment ends.
  25. My bad. I was referencing DD, not Seth.
