I think this is a surprise to Delong as he stated that he was excited to have her for another year.
Also learned that two other pitchers, Bailey Tindell and Ariel Thompson, have also entered the portal. I kind of expected Tindell but Thompson is a surprise.
I would bet that their phones have bring ringing non-stop. The portal is a cluster as is, but the recruiting before players before they enter the portal is as active as recruiting HS players, maybe more.

On the bright side .... if SMU goes to the B12 there is a team in North Texas that can keep the AAC in the metroplex

With today's transfer portal world I wonder how long Stone stays if he cannot beat out Mordecai?

Still expecting the transfer from OU, Mordecai, to start over Stone this year
How much eligibility does Mordecai have left?

@BillySee58 One thing I've noticed in talking with a lot of the college guys is it doesn't seem to be an issue at UNT only. The Freshman classes at all Universities have backlogged badly.
Kids that signed 3 classes ago, RS year, played, COVID year, still RS Soph by eligibility but SR in school this upcoming season.
Kids that signed 2 classes ago, Redshirted, COVID year, now they are RS Freshman still but JR in school this upcoming season.
Kids that signed last class, COVID Year, still have a RS, and are still a Freshman on the roster but will be Soph in school this upcoming season.
Kids that signed this class, Freshman.
3 classes of signees that will be some form of Freshman eligibility and you are looking at a roster nightmare at some point. I believe the NCAA will have to come out and make some kind of amendments to the roster limits and scholarship numbers.
I still believe sometime soon you will see the ncaaa make an exception to the yearly limits over a one or two-year to adjust the scholarships

The CFL announced Wednesday it's delaying the start of the '21 season to Aug. 5 and reducing the number of games played to 14 per team. The league had originally planned to start June 10 with a full 18-game schedule after cancelling the '20 season due to the global pandemic.

Seems the NCAA blew another chance to show how it can help college sports. The reasons are growing for schools to break away from the NCAA

Hope we accept the invite. This tournament could create even more national exposure then the NCAA tournament due to all the backlash of the cancellation
At least 4 teams have accepted plus some individuals

Fall to UAB
Had our chances in the 6th - UAB center fielder made a great catch to keep it from being tied. Our bats are not too much of a weapon

It's certainly encouraging that Passwaters was not a detriment to getting Enoch Jackson on board. But I'm obviously in the "show me" state of mind with him.
Hope he surprises us all. Hopefully the players are comfortable with him

Great news. The powers to be at UNT need to make this happen!

Great representation by our program as we almost swept all of the specialty awards winning four of the five.

Still hard to believe 4 teams had more first team position players than UNT

Both of these gentlemen would argue they had fairly elite college success...but no NFL time

Sorry... Elite college football success is spelled N F L. Brandon Kennedy was a legend in Denton but he didn’t make it to the show. In order of their success give me Cobbs, Spencer, Quinn, and Kennedy.
Ranking college performance is not the same as NFL performance.

Not sure if this will help or hurt UNT.
I think it's more likely to hurt and have an impact on the local "colleges" and "universities" that have popped up all over the place

So you guys don't want to talk expansion in an expansion thread? Seriously, three mwc schools to the aac is a very strong rumor and has potential huge ramifications for north Texas. I'm not making this up.
Would north texas join a mwc lacking three of its current members? I wouldn't recommend it, but I have real interest as smu was in the wac with a lot of those schools.
Just wondering, with the economic impact in college sports why would the AAC look to widen it's footprint? It's hard to believe the P5 will be adding any teams. More likely to see a reduction in the number of teams considered "Power" and very hard to believe if there was expansion they would bring the entire AAC.

The Spring season makes it a bit complicated for FCS teams and coaches that might move on. I would think his name will be on several short list

Why do so many think that SMU would prevent NT from entering the AAC? They would probably try to, but they are only one vote.
I seriously doubt that UH, Tulsa, Tulane or any of their East coast teams would support NT membership.
As an aside, not many outside of NT fans would agree that NT is the best CUSA program. Most of NT's strength is in the women's sports, and leagues seldom pick teams based on that.
Why would any school in the region where we recruit against support us moving up and perhaps having more leverage in recruiting

I guess (unless I am missing) ESPN does not show CUSA scores

Grant being Grant. He will build his new team to be ready for the conference and the CUSA tournament. Not that he does not want to win OOC games be he realizes CUSA is a one-bid conference.
