QB commit - Chandler Morris - transfer from TCU
El Paso Eagle replied to DentonLurker's topic in Mean Green Football
Why? With all due respect, they are trying to improve the program just like we are. -
Tracy Beard College Classic in Denton (2/17-18/24)

It seems like we gave about the same effort in improving our offense in softball as we have on improving our defense in football. -

When hosting a tournament, it seems that most teams try to set it up to where they have the best possible chance to win. In our case, we seem to be scheduling the hardest possible route. Hopefully, getting hammered by top teams, and we'll have some positive impact down the road. -
CFP board of managers expected to vote on 5+7 playoff format

I think that the PAC 2 does not want all the Mountain West teams. Not sure why the Mountain West would be bending over to help the pack these next couple years if there was not a guarantee for that to happen -
😈 Have you noticed there's not nearly as much complaining about the impact of traveling on a student scheduled when their trips are going to places like the Bahamas or Hawaii 😇

'27 ATH Offer: Antayvious Ellis, Crowley: Not Rated

Until our HC changes his AirRaid defense thinking (a reference to Leach's defenses) and decides to place an emphasis on the defensive side of the ball and focus recruiting efforts there, it might not matter who is DC. PS - Yes, I am ticked that we had the worst Defense in FBS, and Morris made a lackluster effort to improve it.

Can we keep this to at least '25 offers? I appreciate your efforts, but adding page after page of 26+ makes it crowded to try and keep track of the more active recruiting activities. -
He's wishing a friend good luck. You never told someone that you work with that left for another job that you wish them luck?

Softball opens 2024 season in Tucson tournament
El Paso Eagle replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Athletics
Nothing says Mean Green like.... never mind. Would it be too much this year if we play again on Saint Patrick's Day to wear green? Last year, it threw off the announcers when they said where else would you rather be on S.P. Day than the home of the Mean Green, and we came out in black. P.S. - NO, I will never stop commenting when one of our teams chooses Black over Gren and White week after week, and the softball team is the worst at this. -

Look around and find a FCS DC who has been successful. Go after him, and hopefully, he will bring a few players.

Noticed on X/Twitter that quite a few JUCO players are getting late offers. As you said, programs are scrambling to get help. -
Pay them. Let them pay for their own classes and tutors. By the way, also take away all of the preferential scheduling and the cherry-picking of the classes and times they get to choose. Since they want to be "employees" can't wait to see someone fired at halftime of a game and asked to clear out their lockers. P.S. - Maybe they will bargain to eliminate ALL mandated student fees that students get no say in.

The ramp up to the split of SEC/Big10 from G5
El Paso Eagle replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
How freaking pathetic are you that you constantly come here to post. Go away. Stay away. -
Didn't Alabama have a player that just left HS and early enrolled in January already hit the portal? I don't care if the coach left; allowing players to transfer before they even practice is asinine.
-
Two comments: 1 - What else would you expect him to say? 2 - When you have the worst D in FBS, you need transfers, not HS players that you will most likely spend 2 years developing before they make an impact or transfer. We need help now!

The disparity and the efforts made to recruit offensive linemen compared to defensive linemen is borderline scary. I know I keep beating the proverbial dead horse, but this shows where Morris's priorities lay, and they're not even close. I will push for Morris and hope he does well, but if, in the end, he does not survive as our head coach, there are not going to be a lot of questions about why this happened. One of Leach's bad traits that I wish Morris had not picked up was his lack of emphasis on defense or the belief that his offense would consistently score enough. Also, as I've said before, it's getting harder for me to dump on Caponi when it looks like he is not given the support he needs to recruit players.

Maybe these two should form an advisory council for Basketball
