Agreed 100%- what was the JQ WR pass call? a drive killer is what I call it. That was during the only good drive qwe had and it killed any MO we were creating. At a minimum flanigan must be gone and recruiting? did anyone else notice the difference in talent level? TU has been 1A how long?

According to Keith's post All time winning %-53.65% DD Winning %-44.58% In my business that is underperformance!(spin and make excuses, but fact is fact) And don't bring up the SBC championships, conference championships have helped us, but come on the SBC is horrible! The SBC championships will not take us to the next level as the conference stands today. To put something another way that has been mentioned on this board-You can't keep doing the same thing(level of recruiting, SBC championships, non-conf game performance, gameplan) and expect better results. I was once told "A good coach can make adjustments to his game plan within three series" and I think that is reasonable. I agree with the fans that say DD has done a great job but question his ability to take us to the next level. But, I think the jury is still out let see what happens with this YOUNG team and our next recruiting class, if he can't make significant progress over the next 12 months I would look elsewhere. I do think he has earned a little patience from us. GMG!!!!

I live in Shreveport and am excited to have the team staying right around the corner from my house. Sorry for the implied language. But, I am not refering to the lost recruits. If good ones get stolen and we know this, why do we not recruit MORE? Or to put it another way 2-2=0 and 5-3=2new recruits instead of none. I just do not see enough thought put into this on whoever plans these things.

OK, I know we got a few with long-term potential in this years class, but if we knew that our potential starter was on the academic bubble and our potential number two was injured and having major surgery, why did we not recruit more or better at this position? Were was the JUCO QB ( I do not mean the one's that went somewere else)? I mean what were we thinking? I don't get it, anyone figured this one out? (please I have thought about the obvious answers-run heavy offensive scheme, etc) We had to know that JB was questionable grade wise. I can't beleive more people are not raising hell about this. As for doing the opposite of the fan board consensus, I think the coaches have caught on to something, and if they are not doing the opposite they should try. My name is Lal (my real name, a family name), graduated in 1991 BBA Finance, founder of Sigma Chi Chapter at UNT (along with Lifer). Currently work for Legg Mason as an Associate Portfolio Manager, married with two boys 2 and 4. I live in Shreveport, La and make it back for 1 home game per year, can't wait to find time to make every game(with kids and extensive hours/travel w/job). I also listen on the net or watch on PPV,TV every single game. I have been following this board, although I do not post alot, for a long time and hope to meet Y'all the next home game I can attend. I have known my good friend Lifer for quite a while, and that's about the only one in the MGN I know personally. My wife, friends, co-workers get tired of of hearing about UNT!. If it's not LSU over here they don't even know it exists, but lately that is changing. I would say the 2 things I am most passionate about (outside of family and career) are Sigma Chi and UNT! GMG! Shane, Sorry if you misunderstood, I did not mean to question your credentials, I am impressed and proud that an alum from NT is doing so well. That said you catch more flies with honey, try not to be so defensive. The bottom line is: If the daily had to rely only on subscriptions to survive they would be bankrupt. No matter what anyone wants to believe if you do not write or sell to your audience you do not make money. I would not pay a cent to read a UNT related Pub that consistently published articles I felt were unrelated to UNT or I believed were not in the University's best interests(wrong or right). IMHO your a little bit extreme comparing someone who does not agree with your views to Nazis, etc. Two more questions: Why do the majority of UNT Daily writers tend to be anti football? Does writing articles that have nothing to with the status quo somehow put you on higher moral ground? I don't buy into the fair and balanced argument I have read the daily many years, who are you trying to kid? Some Examples: I am an Financial Advisor it amazes me how the financial media is about them not you. CNBC has more useless BS than any thing I have ever seen they follow whatever is hot at the moment (BTW,that is not how you build wealth). I saw a study recently that looked at Money Mags top mutual fund picks for a 5 yr period if you bought when they said buy you lost money(in a good mkt at the time) if you did the opposite of what they said you beat the market. Where is the fair balanced reporting there? it is all about selling subs and ads not truely helping anyone. Sorry these are the facts, I could give you infinite examples if you like. GMG!

Shane, I don't want to alienate fellow Shreveport Alumand foward to having a brew with you, but you are a recent graduate and I like you and most, right out of college had the highest expectations, and Ideals, and that should be commended. Like most of my fellow alums who have been humpin it a while (at the risk of sounding negative and jaded) the reality is their are many in your profession and every profession that do not share your high ideals and moral ground, I can guarantee that! Please do not assume everyone in journalism (or any thing) shares your ideals, they do not. Living up to one's ideal of journalistic integrity IMHO has never been the goal of the NT Daily as long as I remember,and everyone makes mistakes (Recent article in Shreveport Times regarding downtown shooting incedent, if rumors are true). I guess the point is do not take something at face value just because it should be that way! OR just because it appeared in a newspaper does not make it accurate! for that matter what kind of regulation or peer reveiw does jounalism have? answer none ( I know you might say the editor, etc, but who is checking Him/Her?)
