  1. Not true. http://msnbc.msn.com/id/5612507/ "Crude oil futures are about 46 percent above year ago levels, though still below the inflation-adjusted high above $90 a barrel reached in 1980." http://msnbc.msn.com/id/8533441/ "While gasoline is no doubt expensive, Lundberg pointed out that the all-time high, when adjusted for inflation, was $3.03 a gallon, set in March 1981."
  2. This site looks like a good comprehensive schedule of all the televised games. We are currently listed as being on ESPN2 twice (Troy & ASU). http://www.lsufootball.net/tvschedule.htm GO MEAN GREEN!!
  3. Denver defeated the North Dakota Fighting Sioux, 4-1. Congrats to Denver on their second consecutive national championship. GO MEAN GREEN!!
  4. I'm headed to Denton. See everyone at the game. GO MEAN GREEN!!
  5. Alright, I know this is last minute, but I have two free tickets to the game tonight. They are floor seats (Row 3, Seats 1&2). First person to respond to this post can have them. I'll leave them at will call under your name, which is gate C I believe. Here is the catch, I am leaving for the game @ 5 so I won't be able to check the board after that. If I don't respond to your reply it is because I am already gone. GO MEAN GREEN!!
  6. I have two tickets for the NT/TCU game that I will not be able to use. The tickets are on the floor, midcourt (Row 3, Seats 17-18). The first person to respond to this post can have them (TCU fans excluded, of course). The only catch is that you will have to pick the tickets up from me in person. I work in downtown Dallas and live in Allen. We can work the details out on PM. GO MEAN GREEN!!
  7. You have no idea if that is true. More likely, our Athletic Dept, wisely, chose to accept the guaranteed bowl invitation and pass on the POSSIBILITY of a different bowl having a vacancy and expressing interest in inviting North Texas. GO MEAN GREEN
  8. DENTON (9/24/04) – The North Texas women’s soccer team had its 16-game home winning streak snapped in a 3-0 loss to the No. 17 SMU Mustangs at the Mean Green Soccer Complex. The defeat is the first loss at home by the Mean Green (5-2) since the 2002 season and only the second loss at home since 1999. “I thought that the score didn’t reflect how well we played,” said North Texas head coach John Hedlund. “We had our opportunities but what hurt us tonight is we gave up some bad goals and that’s the frustrating part. We can play with them (SMU) but we made too many mistakes and didn’t capitalize on our chances”. SMU (5-2-1) started the scoring off early with a goal in the fifth minute of play when Erin MacCallum scored on a loose ball in the box to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead. North Texas senior Alyssa Carrier had a chance to tie the game in the 41st minute of the first half but her chance sailed wide of the net from 15 yards out. SMU extended their lead after the break to 2-0 with a goal in the 60th minute of play when Kimberly Bailey scored off a header from a corner kick. The Mean Green had its best chances of the night in the 67th minute of play. Sophomore forward Kristen Campbell fired a shot from 15 yards out that SMU goalkeeper Amanda Clark deflected over the net. On the ensuing corner kick junior Richelle Magalhaes hit the post and Campbell fired her shot over the net off the rebound. SMU closed out the scoring in the 74th minute when Krystal Bailey scored to make it 3-0. Goalkeeper Briana Buchanan made three saves in the first half but took the loss for North Texas. Freshman goalkeeper Kandice Ellis made two saves in the second half. North Texas returns to action on Sunday, September 26 on the road against the Rice Owls.

  10. I'll have some floor tickets you can use, hopefully same seats as last year. Those weeknight games are hard for me to make. GO MEAN GREEN!!
  11. Kerr Hall - 5th Floor Before my time someone had painted a very large mural of a group of vicious looking dogs trying to break out of a dog pound on the wall facing the elevators, hence we called the 5th floor "The Dog Pound". After I left, the ladies took over that wing of Kerr. I came back a year or so later to visit a friend and the mural had been painted over...pink no less. Bummer. GO MEAN GREEN!!
  12. Congratulations to Corina...that is quite an accomplishment. Glad to have you on the board coach. GO MEAN GREEN!!
  13. I think we have a winner with "Dude where is my car", but I am a little surprised that nobody picked "Ishtar".
  14. Coach Segal - Welcome to the Mean Green Nation! Have you found it difficult recruiting for a program that is being started from scratch? I am sure there are pros and cons and was curious how recruits feel about being on the "inaugural" squad. Thanks in advance. GO MEAN GREEN SOFTBALL!!
  15. I'll be there with the wife. Looking forward to a good home crowd. GO MEAN GREEN!!
  16. My wife and I are going to make the journey to Denton tonight to catch our very first UNT soccer game (we've been inspired by your posts, Reb). We are looking forward to a fun experience. By the way, how many people attend the games? Also, is NT merchandise sold at the field? GO MEAN GREEN!!
