  1. I love duke/Coach K's style of play, but they just don't have a single Big Guy that can do anything when it gets gritty.
  2. They've had the best wheelchair basketball team in the country for quite some time, but I don't either of those squads could stay on the same court with Memphis. I'm interested to see if the Mavs can give anywhere near the game we gave Tigers last year.
  3. Just taking a glance at the Bracket, here's my preliminary forecast. Final Four: Kansas v North Carolina Texas v West Virginia Championship: Kansas defeats West Virginia
  4. "UNT made the tournament and lost to Memphis in the first round." Geez, lets rub some salt in that wound again. He never misses an opportunity to take a couple shots at the athletic department.........
  5. What???? Bowen IS susceptible to suspension??? My world has been turned upside down. This video doesn't do it justice, but this was the dirtiest thing I've ever seen on a court. He's literally trying to snap some tendons in the back of Amare's leg... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sc4yz__akIU...feature=related
  6. Because of confusion surrounding the starting time of the Hartford game this year, my friend Jason and I showed up hungover and excited about the rare 11am B-ball game. A confused janitorial staff member granted us entrance and proceeded to walk to the pit-crew section. Surprisingly there was no one there, it was dead. Thankfully we took it upon ourselves to resurrect it by going home and napping until 2pm, when the game actually started. Upon our return, the crew was thriving and we shared a knowing nod over the work we had done. From the Re-Co-Founder of the Pit Crew, Your Welcome.
  7. Why's everyone booing??? He had his arms raised in the air when he stomped on him. That obviously means it was a non-issue. The thing about Bowen, there's plenty of dirty players out there, but almost everything he does is so underhanded. Most of his hijinks go unnoticed until further examination through replay.
  8. I was there for the 1st two hours of practice on Saturday and I'll second medpilot21's sentiments on Cam. I know it doesn't count for much but that guy just looks like a big time running back. I remember talking to a buddy a couple of weeks ago about UNT petitioning the NCAA to qualify last year as a Medical-redshirt for him. Anyone know if that actually went down? I'd love to have Cam around for two more years.
  9. Unless Chris Simms' career as an NFL QB flames out. Wouldn't surprise me if they went with Simms even though Appelwhite would give them the better chance to win......
  10. Consider me officially fired up now (as if I wasn't already). I wonder if I took a whole bottle of Ambien before bed tonight, might I just wake up and it be fall already.... BTW: Why would his next logical move be OC at Oklahoma?? I thought he played ball at TX.
  11. I've been meaning to ask this for a while. Whats all this Roc & Manuch garbage I've been hearing on Sporting news radio lately??? I hope this isn't a sore subject, but these guys are completely worthless. I loved your show because of your ability co cover such a wide variety of topics and still remain credible. Hearing those two try and discuss golf is like listening to Mike Irvin discuss "Reality." You've got a fan in me, even if you did refer to me as Chris in Denton instead of Cliff every time I called in.
  12. Bell has been HUGE thus far. Here's hoping White/Wooden go off in the second half.
  13. I will always remember when he went shirt off with Dan at the Super Bowl. That and his karate chop first down celebrations.
  14. In my opinion any list that includes Terry Bradshaw, while excluding Troy Aikman is severely flawed. I'm by no means arguing that Troy is greatest if all time, but top 11??? Come on. Most accurate passer I've ever seen deep, short, and intermediate.
  15. Yea it was Garrett Mills. That was a dark day in recent Mean Green football. First home game following three straight NO Bowl appearances, Jamario and Patrick healthy together, and Tulsa just lays it to us. Something just didn't feel right about that out of conference loss..... The home game with Tulsa might be the one I'm anticipating the most. Garrett Mills: eight receptions for 143 yards and one touchdown
  16. "They have Eli. We have Romo. I'll take Romo." Dan McDowell
  17. Don't let the sheer number of seats distract you..... It's the $ for suite sales that will get the game moved to Arlington. No suites at the Cotton Bowl compared to a plethora at Jerry World...... And the winner is.....
  18. Why are they throwing their good money after naught?? The day that Madam No decided to let the Cowboy's stadium be built in Arlington was the day the Red River Shootout was destined to be moved outside of Dallas. There is no way in the world that either school is going to allow that game to continue to be played in a stadium that cannot offer the ticket/suite revenue that Jerry's Coliseum can afford. The renovation/added seats constitute the "lipstick on a pig" thats just not going to cut it. I agree that there's something to be said for the State Fair atmosphere that the Cotton Bowl can offer, but most of the fans attending the game could care less, they fly in/drive up for the game and then are gone. Although I can't stand either school, I try to go to every shootout I can get tickets for, but It's almost a chore sit through a game in the Cotton Bowl's seats. The prospect of viewing the game in comfortable seats which happen to reside in the most innovative venue on the globe will be too much to resist.
  19. Well.....it was a talking point on Sports Center, being that he was the only player on either team to commit any sort legal blunder the week of the SB.........
  20. I don't like it. I'm not sure, maybe its the new L. I just don't like it. Plus I'll have to buy all new Cowboys jerseys and hats so nobody will see me wearing the old shield...... it must be a merchandising move.
  21. My argument is that while Johnny has done great things for UNT basketball, in the grand scheme of things he hasn't accomplished anywhere near enough to merit heavy consideration for a job like LSU. I meant that here we are tickled pink (and rightfully so) that he has created enough of a buzz around Mens Basketball to generate attendance numbers unseen in years, at LSU they're going to want someone with a proven record of success. Lets be real here, I love the guy, but does anyone really consider him to be a great game manager? I just don't see Johnny creating anywhere near the buzz they're looking for.
  22. Perfectly said. I couldn't agree more. Jones to LSU..... maybe as an assistant with a chance to move up, but not as head coach. He'd need to have actually proven something by now. Don't get me wrong. I love the guy, and he's doing wonders for our program, but LSU's not trying to get their average attendance up to 4,000, they're trying to make some noise in the SEC.
  23. Love it. Imagine that thing with a nice black visor over the eye opening...... It's like an updated (slightly more protective) version of the Scott Player look.
