Hawaii just backed out of the game. Covid related. So glad we at least got to play our game.

I disagree. We had a legitimate chance until about 9 minutes left in the game when we turned it over on downs on their 4 yard line. Even after that, one could argue that we still had a chance. I wouldn’t disagree with someone trying to make that argument. But I also won’t stand up to make that argument. 😂 But someone could make that argument.

I’m not sure what people expected in this game or why people expected such great things. I never expected a win in this game with any confidence. It would have been nice to win one again, and I was glad to buy tickets and be there in green. But I’m just happy it was a competitive game. We were in it until the last half of the 4th quarter, unlike several other games this year and past bowl/championship games under SL. for me, this is what it boiled down to: Our offensive strength? Run game Their defensive strength? Run defense Not good for us. Their offensive strength? Pass game Our defensive weakness? Secondary Also not good for us. People are fooling themselves if they think we were ever supposed to blow this team out of the water. Beatable, yes, unlike some previous bowl games.

People forget this team missed an appearance in their conference championship game by losing to Kent State by 1 point in overtime in the final week of the season. We were much further away from an appearance in the CUSA championship than that.

I’ve said all along, he should have been fired during or at the conclusion of the regular season. Now is too late. The coaching carousel has started to slow down and settle in place. We all know what happens when you go looking for an OC or DC later than everyone else, and it’s not pretty. It has to be even worse to go HC hunting later than everyone else. At this point, he needs to stay for another year.

It would be nice to be responsible for their only L. But regardless who the opponent is or what conference they are in, I root for UTSA to lose… ALWAYS. Personally, I see this as a win-win situation. They win the bowl, and we were their only loss in the season. They lose, and they still suck. 🤷‍♂️

I’m of the belief that he needs to go. He should have been let go at the conclusion of the regular season. Letting him go now or after the bowl game would be a mistake. It’s too late to start a search for a new head coach, much less the staff that fills in under them. He needs to stay for another year, regardless of the bowl game outcome.

These CUSA teams are screwing up my bowl pick ems.

Mose looked like he hurt a finger during the UTSA game. He was practicing snapping the ball on the sidelines and wincing in some pain. Guessing it's all better now.

I'm also of the mind that this game will not sell out. I'd be happy with 10k butts in seats. It's two 6-6 teams in a horrible time slot. I'm trying to not be a homer here. That being said, I'll be in the stadium. It's right down the road from my house.

Wait... you got a physical ticket as a student? Back in my day, we literally just showed our ID and walked in. It was glorious! We could leave at halftime, go slam a few beers in the parking lot and then go back in.
