  1. UNT knocked off Texas Tech 4-3 tonight. The double-header tomorrow got moved to one game tonight because of weather. Here is the article: Mean Green Sports Article
  2. Disappointing, but oh well. Goodnight and Go Mean Green!
  3. Ive got: West: Washington, Utah, Nevada South: Houston, Tulsa East: Seton Hall, Virginia, Brown, Richmond Midwest: IUPUI, Cincinnati, Ohio, Bradley UTEP could either go south or west. Hopefully West.
  4. If Tulsa is in then there should be one more spot from the south available. Although, UTEP technically could be in the West bracket, leaving two spots left in the south.
  5. In case you didn't notice, this was moved from the football board to the basketball board, and was on the football board when I posted that. You might want to check your facts before you make it sound like I am stupid. Second, I was referring to our athletics as a whole. So I think it definitely pushes our athletics above theirs since we have football. Thanks for your concern though.
  6. Is this football related? haha, seriously though, last time I checked uta DOES NOT EVEN HAVE A FOOTBALL TEAM...taking this into account, I am pretty sure they have not passed us. They are also about to be slapped right back down into place when they take the court against memphis.
  7. Agreed. Thats about the best neutral location we could have asked for, with our location in the Sun Belt's footprint. 5 hours isn't all that bad.
  8. Mean Green Matt: Player Bio: In credit hours a freshman at North Texas, but a lifelong fan of the program, playing in GMG Bowl V would fulfill his lifelong dream to play in a football game at Fouts Field. Seeing the stands off in the distance would bring chills to his spine. Filled with green blood from previous generations, at 6'1" 165, Matt would be best placed at a defensive back position or receiver. Speedy and Elusive, the 19 year old could be a sleeper.... Positives: Fairly quick. 4.6 forty in high school (might not have been exactly forty yards, but close), Young. Energetic. Negatives: So skinny the flag belt might not fit... Draft Prediction: No clue, hopefully in the middle. Shirt Size: Medium
  9. There has been, I believe it was 2004 or 2005. There will likely not be again if the Sun Belt's Hot Springs, AR experiment turns out good. We played Arkansas State in the first round of the one we hosted and lost, and the crowd was not even as good as our regular season games this year. My two cents is that the higher seeded team should have home court all the way through, no host site. I think that makes for a more exciting tournament overall.
  10. All good points. For the students to fight for this, we should definitely get Rick V's proposal first. As far as going to the BOR, I've been told that they are unlikely to do anything about this, leaving the next best alternative being the SGA.
  11. I'm up for getting a petition started. I'll talk to some of the senators I know as well. It is something that needs to happen. Go Mean Green.
  12. From what I can tell, if we lose our last two, there are scenarios that would put us at a 9 seed, resulting in an away game. I may be wrong, but pretty sure. Here it is. USA, WKU, MTSU are on top of us for good. FAU from the east could win out and end 9-9. If we lose the next two, we end 9-9, and FAU has the tiebreaker. Likewise, worst case the West would end up as this: ULL 10-8 UALR 10-8 Denver 10-8 UNO 9-9 UNT 9-9 Keep in mind, this would take a long list of very specific wins and losses to occur in the Belt. One win for us agains ULL or UNO and we see another game at the pit. Two wins for us and a UALR loss and we sit at a 2 seed in Mobile.
  13. It was actually a North Texas Cop, and I was just talking to the guy, not arguing or anything. I thought the cop was joking, but he wasn't. Anyways, I'm pretty sure we needed LaLa to win tonight, UALR has to lose to either Denver or La Monroe for us even have a mathematical chance to win the West.
  14. Does it bother anyone else that we have 28 days in between home games....twice?!?!
  15. A bunch of different campus organizations are working on this game. SGA/the pit crew, Honors Hall, Bruce Hall, Mozart Square, and Maple Hall. You can throw RHA in there. The student turnout should be big, the atmophere will be amazing. Be Loud, Be Proud, and Don't Sit! Go Mean Green!
  16. We actually lost by 69 to oklahoma...not nearly as bad.
  17. I didn't look at the roster. I was just saying that Hebron is about 1 mile from where I went to high school, and I know they lived right around the school. I can't find out where he goes.
  18. I went to school with his son when I was in 8th and he was in 7th I believe. We actually played basketball together on the middle school B team. I guess he got better. He left for public school after that year, and Hebron High is in the right area. His name is Nick and he would be a senior now.
  19. You're right. I apologize. Not sure where I picked that up, but in the student section I hear "our", that must be where. I'll fix it. Thanks greenminer. Thank you all for the positive feedback.
  20. I'm a student and I even agree...but then again I would vote yes for the student fee. Truth is, a $50 or $100 fee per semester, most people would probably not even notice. There are so many fees I pay that I have no idea where the money goes to. This stadium is something that needs to happen, and if the BOR has the power to impose the fee, I sure hope they do it. The people that would vote no can be happy later when the value of a North Texas degree goes up, because unfortunately most people judge the quality of an institution by their athletic program.
  21. I made a video with some of the pictures and videos that my parents took at the games they remembered to bring the camera to. There are a couple family pictures near the beginning, but thats all. I hope ya'll enjoy, and that the hyperlink works. Glory to the Green!
  22. I think that a lot of people left to go watch the BCS or "BS" championship game...whether they would have stayed or not had that game not been on I don't know. I do know that the requirement to be there, sort of ran out at that time. If we were up by less than 20 that mightve helped as well. For instance, the Ok St. crowd at least from what I could tell, did not diminish in the second half. We have a shot at the Sun Belt again this year, and the athletic department needs to advertise it as such. The sign on I35 is a great idea, and I don't see why Denton would complain. We really should be getting crowds of at least over 4000 with the team we have. Look for a larger average of students this spring starting Saturday, as tomorrow the residence halls open up again. GMG!!
