Yes, included the world largest university primarily for women--Texas Womens University.

Got it understand. The last time I was on TWU campus, I saw more male students than female. I wonder what the ratio really is. I would guess 15% guys?

Yes, someone in that mold.  When he was  at Tech I'd wager we lost more than a few coveted recruits.

Bet he'd also have no problem helping our current staff sell Apogee, the Mean Green  Village, apparent new Indoor Practice Facility sooner than later & 30,000 co-eds in Denton,Texas, America.

?Folks, we are not some chopped liver school located in some backwater outback.

    GMG!

Where are you getting the 30k co-ed number from? We have right at 38k students, so that seems a bit high.

Would Tech have won a conference title if they played in any of our conferences in the last 50 years? How would we have done in the SWC or Big XII?

I completely agree with you, but it just doesn't seem that hard to ask SL to consider having a practice in Frisco, especially since we have paid to sponsor the Star...

Maybe he has considered it, logistics or cost wise it didn't make sense, so he decided against it. WB won't, nor should he, consult with us fans on decisions like this.

Even more reason why we should play a scrimmage in one of these places. A Spring practice scrimmage in Frisco could be used as a nice recruiting tool at The Star, since our name in Frisco is growing for our campus there. But, again, I thought we should have done this at Toyota Stadium in the years past--or at Clark Stadium in Plano...

Its just another way that we are still about 25% behind other FBS schools when it comes to athletics. I want to believe in Wren Baker and his staff, but I fear he's gonna be nothing more than another UNT BOR stooge. Some people here want to see more action, but maybe he's doing it behind the scenes to help make things better. But Im inherently skeptical of anything UNT athletics related to be anything bigger than it has been. The culture doesn't demand it here and in many spots within the UNT community, it's completely loathed and wanted to be stopped completely.

Do you remember the report the consultants put out about the time WB arrived on campus? There is a boatload of crap that he has to fix before moving ahead in other areas. This athletic department has been terribly neglected for decades, it's going to take awhile to fix. Hell, we had athletes that didn't have their own lockers and equipment.

I expect UNT to be better. To hire better. It's clear at this point that UTSA made a much better hire. Not even close.

You, on the other hand, will accept the constant suck that is UNT athletics. You will defend, and have defended, low expectations and low results.

Its the reason UNT has sucked at everything for an awful long time.

What are the odds you hit 29k posts by the end of this month?

Speaking of Hoston...  last we heard of him, he was in Denton, enrolled in classes trying to get eligible to possibly play this upcoming season.    Does anyone know if he is actually doing this?

He used to tweet a lot about working out and getting ready for football. Haven't seen anything from him in awhile.

We stand to finish 11th in recruiting in a 14 team conference. With a composite rating of 100.90, we would be 7th in the MWC,8th in the MAC,8th in the SBC, and next to last in the AAC.You just can't put enough lipstick on this pig to make it acceptable. If Baker and Littrell stand up before alumni on Wednesday night at Stadium Club and say they are pleased with their first recruiting class[which I bet they do], then we have a serious problem.I doubt I will attend as my bullshit meter is at an all time high.

Do you think any coach or AD would stand up and say they were disappointed in the young men coming into the program?

I have a great idea when they post publicly that we should just wait it out.

Have you tweeted, called, emailed Wren Baker?

You tell me. You have stated I accept losing, RV was my buddy, I am the typical UNT fan etc. You like to state your so called facts so you tell me if I have or haven't.

There is nothing backhanded about them. They are a straight punch to the mouth. There is a terrible culture of losing at UNT, and it permeates all aspects of the program, even the fan base.

This fan base accepts things with a shrug that any other fan base would be up i arms about, calling the AD, university president, and anyone else they could. At UNT we just shrug and say "welp, I guess they know what's best."

And you wonder why UNT has sucked forever.

How do you know people aren't bombarding WB with tweets, calls, and emails? You have no idea the activity of others.

    A few things:

    1. People here really liked him and he really liked it here.

    2. He's affordable

    3. He is tied in very well with TX and LA high school coaches who like him and respect him.

    4. Coming off failure at his alma mater, he will be hungry to rebuild his reputation, similar to what Tubby Smith did when he got fired at Minnesota and immediately went to Texas Tech and turned things around to the point that Memphis hired him away. I think JJ, under Wren's leadership (assuming he knows what he's doing), could be walking into a great situation.

Im not advocating for him to get the job, but he will be interested and I believe we will be interested in him.

I just believe that Wren would not remotely make JJ his first hire. This situation is like the guy that breaks up with his 6 rated girlfriend to go out with the 9 rated cheerleader. After he gets dumped he crawls back to the ex. She would be nuts to take him back. And we would be nuts to take JJ back.

To your "in charge" point, I guess at this point I'm focussed on the young men who wear the green and take the floor to represent us. My opinion is that it would be to everyone's benefit to minimize the turmoil they experience.

They are young men, they can handle it if their boss gets fired just like people handle it everyday in the workforce. They aren't little snowflakes!

Actually, thank god for this site and those who raise concerns early. Left to the normal green Kool aid gang (not talking about you), nothing would ever be questioned and UNT's indefinite suck would continue unabated.

Consequences are an effective motivator. There were no consequences for the Hattiesburg Hustler for the better part of a decade and he had zero motivation. We all saw how that worked out.

I encourage those that are unhappy with recruiting, men's basketball, or anything else to contact Wren Baker. By email, by phone, by social media, by whatever means possible. Let him know what you expect. Yes, it absolutely makes a difference. This fan base has done very little but sit on its ass and bitch about losing. It's way past time to let people in power know that we expect better. A lot better.

But WB won't talk to them unless they are large enough donors, right?

How Christian of him, and you...

I suggest counseling for your anger issues.

No anger with me. I suggest you getting a life outside this board. 28k posts is very unhealthy, probably bordering on the edge of obsessed.

I've done much more than cry on a message board.

What have you done? Never mind, I know the answer.

I have a life. I go to my boys ball games, I am active in church, I volunteer for several organizations, I am happy and successful in my career, I occasionally help with Scouting activities, I exercise fairly regularly, and I enjoy playing the piano. It's called having a well balanced life, you should really try it, I guarantee you would be much happier.
