Right here is the problem with UNT athletics. AD suck ups like this cat who would rather run off fans than try and raise expectations one centimeter for UNT athletics. This guy and people like him are the reason UNT will suck in perpetuity. Because they can and these jack wagons will NEVER say one word about it.
No way anybody would mistake you as a fan. It's obvious NT and everything associated with it pisses you off and you will never be happy. Why would you subject yourself to such misery? Hell, if I was that unhappy, it would be easy for me to purchase TCU tickets and never come back. Do it for your sanity, do it for the children.

Lol. In 10 years. That isn't fixing anything. That game was fit to an opening in the schedule. Baker was bought here to fix things, one being the schedule. He hasn't.
The funny thing is you were the same guy who said that series with Tech could never be scheduled because in state P5s would NEVER play at Apogee. This was back when you were defending the lady AD, remember?
So congrats for being wrong. Twice.
Lol. And you probably believe SMU is bringing in 23k a game and that UNT is actually averaging over 2l at the Pit this season,
Talk to actual TCU season ticket holders about this. Many don't attend those games, and the one I know that did said there was maybe 23k in the stadium.
And get it right. The Frog basketball bandwagon. UNT hasn't completely killed my football loyalty, but they are real damn close.
What can us fans do to put in the final dagger to kill off your remaining loyalty to UNT football so you will completely go away for good? I will buy and fly a banner if that's what it takes!!

It happens but it's not common. It's more of a problem the smaller the organization.
That makes sense, I have only worked at larger companies that had plenty of manpower.

If you are so pissed off that you are talking about never supporting the program again and supporting other universities, why are you here?
It's like UNT is 90's booty call, he just can't entirely give it up. He's addicted.
1 hour ago, UNTFan23 said:If you have a department size of, say 10 people and cut it down to 7, those 7 people are now doing the work of those 10. Maybe the 3 let go weren't pulling their weight and the loss isn't too bad but it's still more work for the other 7. Sadly, one of the people let go was the only one who did a certain task and now someone has to learn how to do that, which takes away time from doing other important things. Since you're busy just trying to keep things afloat, they let their email and VMs pile up to when they feel like they have more "spare" time to knock out that kind of stuff.
Maybe I can say stuff like that because I've lived it where I work? I've had teammates let go yet the amount of work the team was expected to get done stayed the same. Less important tasks were shelved until more time to get those kinds of things became available. Email is the easiest thing to ignore. I could always let a phone call slide and claim ignorance that I had stepped away from my desk for a few minutes while I worked on something that has a pressing deadline. Thank goodness for things like caller ID, right? If you really want to talk to me, come to my desk.
I have never worked where people weren't cross trained to do other people's job. You should NEVER be in a situation where one 1 person only can do a particular task.

B.S. Fans understand that this is a natural rivalry between schools that are 30 miles apart and it should be played every year. Since you are now jumping on the Frog bandwagon, I would suggest you get used to playing SMU every year for the all important cast iron skillet.
2016: TCU vs. South Dakota State attendance 43,450
2015: TCU vs. SFA attendance 45,786
Not sure what your definition of "no one shows up" is.
Some people make stuff up and pull data directly from their unhappy keaster. When presented with facts, they attack. Just watch.

When SMU sends their fans, they're not sending their best. They're sending douches who have a lot of problems, and they're bringing those douche problems to us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing $30k millionaires. They're date rapists. And some, I assume, are good fans.
Some people would get banned for a subliminal post like this.

No. I want to be able to cheer for Lance. Can't do that if he puts on a Texans' uniform. Plus, that team has zero personality and no chance of consistently winning.
Maybe he could be catching passes from Romo in Houston?

I like the Northern AZ, but no idea if we would even consider that nor does it sound like they would consider it.
I do like that they are wanting to make it into a multi-use stadium, makes it so UNT can get more uses out of it and hopefully generate some additional revenue as well. Someone had talked about the OK vs TX relays, that would be great and another recruiting tool UNT could offer as a way to show off UNT track/ soccer facilities.
Slap a restaurant on it and let the hotel and restaurant management people use it for class and get state funds!

Guys, look...we all agree that not just this season, but Benford's entire tenure, has been a disaster. But the "I hate him so much, get him out now regardless of consequences" attitude and statements aren't helping his guys at all. Remember...these are students whose futures lay in the hands of our community.
If anyone wants to see if the results of firing him early include disrupting the players' academic routines enough to hurt their standing, you need to go back to school and study research methods.
Benford may or may not be a possible cause of academic distraction if he were to be fired. The outcome of the athletic season is the same: a mess. His pay, the terrible record, all of it will be the same regardless. It's the control variable. But I'm not willing to risk the well-being of our students just to make a statement about their coach's results.
We are one of the few D1 schools that puts academics first. When framing this argument, please remember that.
And if making a statement by firing Benford when it doesn't really matter is more important to you than the possibility of strain leading to academic failure for our guys, then you have lost sight of our mission and would do well to shut your mouth.
These are grown men. Their future lies in their own hands, nobody elses.

Ideally I'd love to have two top notch separate facilities. Finances and land availability might not make it possible. I just want to make sure we do it right and build something our athletes can be proud of.
One thing I can guarantee, no matter how great a facility we build we will have people on this board complain about it.
We could give away free beer at every game and people on this board would find something to bitch about. Too hot, too cold, too just right....

I like your idea of one structure that supports both venues. Unfortunately due to space, I bet we have one with the track around the field.
Edit: According to one of Krams post, we are going to have separate venues. Re-do the existing soccer field and then build a track with a practice soccer field in the middle. I like that idea. Where do the soccer gals practice now?

A windmill debate, I guess we will continue to disagree.
I don't know if NT is a leader in gender equality or not. If NT is, I am not sure what that gets you; other than a lot of extra expense. Here are the stats:
Sports: women 10, men 6: (track officially counts as 3 separate teams, outdoor track, indoor track and cross country although the ship limit is imposed as one entity)
Maximum ships if all are at limit: women 99, men 115. (Note due to partial ships in some sports including swimming and track & field, the number of athletes on ship can be much higher than these limits)
Undergraduate enrollment %: women 52%, men 48%
Title IX theoretical scholarship target: women 111, men 103
The point being that few colleges are in compete compliance and I suspect you are correct in that NT is probably a lot closer than most. Most title IX suits are not over numbers. They are about the unfair treatment of women athletes which includes a comparison of the resources available to women in relation to men.
Moving Apogee to the general construction bond pool is transferring it from the AD department to NT general control. Your second comment supports my theory. Operationally, it is immaterial were the facility is on an accounting basis. The AD could be making all the decisions now regarding the SP, if it is what the NT administration wanted.
Frankly, I think the whole SP reporting status is a red herring that RV liked to use. It is not rocket science, the basketball schedule has to be coordinated with other major uses of the SP and adequate on-court practice has to be provided. Just like the vast majority of college arenas in the country manage. I can remember two or three occasions were games had to moved because of conflicts. My guess those were errors by the AD occurring when they contracted games without reference to the master SP schedule.
Do your numbers include women that self identify as men and vice versa? If so, can't we just move people around like chess to get the correct ratios. One day I am a man on the men's track team but the next week they need me over on the woman's team to get our ratios in line.

Spitballing, but we know the BOR is discussing Littrell's contract. If that is tied to the assistant salaries this could have something to do with the wait to see what their final budget will be?
Absolutely, thanks! We have a lot of posters that don't have a clue about contracts and/or budgets. They think things can be finalized at a snap of a finger, doesn't work that way.
