It goes without saying that this is a big game. The SBC East looks about 5 times stronger on paper than the West. If we go by the BG article, NO is the main competion for us, so if we can win on the road, it is a major coup towards winning the West.

Denver is just plain awful this season.

We definitely have a shot to win the west. The whole division is down.

Alot of coaches stay with their current teams until after bowl seasons...which is similar to what Dodge is doing. Urban Meyer for example routed Pittsburgh in the Fiesta Bowl. He's doing okay at Florida. Non issue.

I think E91G95 and I are on the same page. The general reaction in California among friends that I told was a disbeliving condescension that a HS coach would be the way we went. *shrug*

He did well in the press conference, but I'll be a bit skeptical until he starts beating people. High school is not college, just like college is not the pros. And we've seen a ton of great college coaches flame out in the pros. I'm really pulling for the guy though.

The girl from Illinois mounted an impressive rally the last couple of days. She might not finish in last afterall.

I typically use "pretty good" to mean not quite good(like better than "okay", but not quite good if that makes any sense). As I would agree with the earlier statement, at the moment we're pretty good. Conference play will show if we are GOOD.

I got both the 2005 and 2006 Calendars. The 2007 one is supposed to be in color.

They went on the road to Arkansas this year, Auburn in '03, and I believe Kansas State in '02. I think they play Nebraska in Lincoln next season. Not that they're gonna make a return trip to Fresno State(to make up for FSU playing SC in the Colesium in '05) or anything, but SC has no fear of traveling to tough places.

Oh I don't find being 2-5 at this point acceptable. I mean how did we lose to Hampton for God's sakes? Seriously though, how did we get stuck on the road this long. We don't even have a December home game. That's ridiculous. Especially with a young team that needs to be built up. Another thing on youth though. Brittany James(freshman)seems to be our best player to me. Every time I listen to the games(which, granted has only been about half of them so far) she seems to be everywhere doing everything. Her box scores tend to be filled with stats. Yet she's coming off the bench, getting between 10-15 minutes a game I believe. What the hell is that all about Slinker?

Playing 9 of your first 11 on the road was just dumb. Not that we should lose ALL the road games, but seriously - with that schedule early season success is gonna be tough.

Because a Champion would've been determined on a field already.

It''d be ridiculous to have conference like the Pac-10 or Sunbelt where everyone already plays everyone - to have a title game.

Okay, what happens if USC beats Michigan though? It'd have to be the Gators then.
