Definitely a great time. In the past 6 years we have 4 Bowl appearances(one win), and NCAA tournament appearance, and the soccer girls have won league as well.

I was thinking- If we could schedule some serious Mid Majors, we could get a Bracket Buster game on ESPN. It'd have to be on the road though, since we haven't shown ESPN we can actually have folks at games. But a road Bracket Buster game is not pie in the sky. I'll post more later.

Oh I know. But against a team that is superior than you in pretty much every fashion most things have to go your way. Memphis prolly woulda found a way to win, but dang the mo' was on our side at that point. More than anything, I was trying to get across how close this game truly was(even at 15 points). I'm as proud as I've ever been to be a NT alumn.

Great summary. I especially agree on getting a replacement for Bell. Point guard play is maybe the most important thing in college basketball. Bell has really grown into the role this season, but he only has one more.

Two runs by Memphis...other than that we just went toe to toe with one of the top 10 teams in the nation.

I'm gonna move heaven and Earth to get to the banner raising next year. What a season!

Great article. My folks are both alumns. I remember them both(but Mom especially) talking about the Blakely years and everything when I was a kid. We got ESPN around the time we went in '88 but I don't beklieve we had it installed yet, cause neither recall watching the game. I watched it at the CLC at 1st Baptist Church in Dennton. I was like 9 year old. ANYWAYS Mom was so excited that we made it this year, but they aren't carrying the game in Phoenix(my folks moved about 10 years ago). They don't have high speed so the March madness on Demand was outta the question. So she hunted around & found a local sports bar that's gonna open up just for her so she can wactch the game in Phoenix.

Are they gonna make a commemorative DVD for the season? Because I'd buy it(and try and include those DMN diaries).

KNTU and The Word both will. Pregame starts an hour before gametime.

It's huge. If we win today though, I'd say it's bigger than the NO Bowl win(that's still the crowning achievement) because we would get mentioned almost every year by CBS everytime they talk about upsets. 1991 #15 seed Richmond over No. 2 Syracuse. 1993 #15 seed Santa Clara over No. 2 Arizona. 1997 #15 seed Coppin State over No. 2 South Carolina(then they almost beat UT in the 2nd round). 2001 #15 seed Hampton defeating No. 2 Iowa State. It can be done.
