This is not the fans fault.  This is the NCAA and the coaches being greedy.

It's not the NCAA per se.  They can't control the big guys - they consistently lose in court when the Big 10 or whoever challenges them.  Even a few weeks ago the SEC commissioner made a veiled threat about not letting in so many auto bids from smaller conferences so the big boys can get practically their whole leagues in the postseason.  That's what I'm starting to worry about.

  2. Plenty of the NIT semis and finals I watched on TV weren't exactly highly attended.  Traveling to NYC (unless you're in the north east corridor) on short notice in the middle of the week isn't easy or cheap.  When you had a school like St. Johns, or Penn State - the Garden would be rocking.  Not so much when it was Stanford vs Miami.

  3. Indianapolis and Hinkle is a much better location for the NIT than Las Vegas' Orleans Arena IMHO though.  It's a historic venue and that is total basketball country.  Only the fact that Indy is so often in the rotation to have the Final Four would prevent it from moving there on a more permanent basis.

As long as Kennedy is at UAB, they will continue to be a thorn, and it doesn't look like Charlotte is going anywhere.   Does Memphis do anything over the offseason?
It's nice to have a team that's always contending.  We actually have to think about what the other contenders are doing to keep up/be better!

UAB is an equal, but they don't scare me the way FAU did.  I always thought the Owls were just flat better than us.  I don't have that feeling about anyone else.
