  1. Wow. Caught a break on that drive. Offense had better show something. It has been a long while.
  2. It's nice, but not that special ?
  3. The ESPN announcers right now...."They did it in all 3 phases"....lol Nice win. When the running game is going like that, this team is hard to stop. 8 conference wins in a row is impressive. The real test comes over the next 2 weeks though
  4. Just like the NCAA BB Tournament, there are a whole lot of people that want to see the upstarts beat the perennial powers. For me and many others, the first 2 days of the NCAA BB tourney are the most exciting. Outside of the powerhouse teams alumni, I think the rest of the country would like to see someone new take them down. Frankly, I think most of the nation is tired of the same P5 teams winning every year.
  5. College football is just not working for me anymore as a fan with the NIL + Portal. I used to have a broad interest in College Sports Now, I only pay attention to my school (NT) and could care less about anybody else. And, it's even harder for me to get excited about NT football, not knowing who is actually going to be on team from year to year. College football attendance has been dropping for 7 straight years now. The misused NIL+Portal is only going to make matters worse IMO.
  6. I don't think so. I believe it was just for a change of pace. Stone appeared to be just looking to run, not pass.
  7. My God this broadcast is awful. The announcers are OK. But, the cameras and score updates look like something out of the 80's Soviet era TV (CCCP).
  8. In theory we could get to 6-6 (ouch...again). This FAU game is pretty important in that regard. All 3 road games remaining are tough teams and we probably be blown out: UTSA, Western Kentucky and UAB 3 home games remaining are at least winnable: FAU, La Tech and Rice. 1 home game, FIU, should be a blowout in our favor, unless the team has given up by then. If FAU beats us this weekend, then I think the likelihood of hitting 6 wins will be pretty difficult based on the way this team has played so far and the upcoming schedule. It's odd that the best teams are all on the road. I think that works in UNT's favor, because they most likely could not compete with UTSA, WKU and UAB at home anyway. So, why waste a home game. Would 6-6 really be better for the program than a losing record ? I guess that depends on whether 6-6 (and another bowl loss) gets this staff another year. I can't imagine that could really be true. But, who really knows what Wren and Neal are thinking.
  9. Watching Middle Tennessee's QB and realizing we haven't seen QB play around here since, you know who. 45-24 8:42 left MT over Miami and they just keep putting the foot on the gas.
  10. I am switching to MT vs #22 Miami Middle is still up by 14 in the 4th. Imagine.
  11. Good thing this is a road game. Can you imagine if it was at home ?
  12. Aune had better not see another snap today. Two pick-sixes have cost the team the game.
  13. Lets be honest here. Aune does not have a rocket arm to complete a 3rd and long like that. They could not afford another interception.
  14. They won't do it. But, it is time to see what Gunnell can do against his ex mates.
  15. The Memphis punt team is killing the NT punt team. Huge difference in the game.
  16. Teams run hurry up because it doesn't allow the defense to get set. And, it actually wears them down faster because they don't really have a chance to catch their breath. But yeah, it can also wear down your defense if you have a quick 3 and out. SMU is more athletic. So, the team probably ran more hurray up to try and gain an edge. You probably already knew that. But, just in case..... I believe that when you need a score and have your opponent on their heels, you run a quick snap. If you have a big lead and the D is obviously gassed, you can slow it down. I am pretty sure we ran a lot of hurray up last season also. But, not 100% sure. The fact is, we can run the ball, dominate and wear down weaker opponents. That doesn't work so well against bigger, tougher, more talented opponents. When a G5 school upsets a favored P5 school, it is usually because they were able to pass the ball extremely well. Very, very rarely does a school from a smaller division run well against a higher division foe. When NT should have upset Texas in 1988, I think our QB Scott Davis threw for over 400 yards. I don't remember us being able to run at all in that game
  17. Yep. 95.3 has terrible reception in most of Dallas. Where do most UNT alums probably reside ? Dallas. This is a terrible oversight. In fact, it is shocking.
  18. And by then, it was pretty much over. That's just awful. You must have been furious.
