  1. I would like for this to be true. I would take 7-5. I fear more likely 5-7 or 4-8.
  2. This would help as much as retention of players on the roster. Excellent point.
  3. And how many would have stayed if Littrell would have stayed? There is no way to know, but he did get players to stay previously because he had a good relationship with them. Coach Morris has no relationship with them. And some transferred after Spring ball. Isn't that Morris' fault for not retaining them? Littrell clearly went a different route his last year in recruiting. No way to know if it would have worked out long term, but we did play for the conference championship last year.
  4. They are critical. I killed us in Fouts when a kid would go to see a school with turf and come to NT and see dormant grass in the winter. It kills us in basketball when they come see the Pit and there isn't a basketball floor down. It killed us when we didn't have an indoor practice facility and the high school he was coming from did. It is absolutely critical.
  5. Of all the conferences that I thought would fold, the PAC was nearly last on the list. Couldn't even imagine this when I was a kid.
  6. Beat a top 25 team for only the second time in school history to qualify for a bowl. We have to quit discounting ourselves. Would have been just as good without the first sentence.
  7. Not once did he line up as a TE. Seems strong with some acceleration.
  8. I think the $25 might have been new members in the MGSF. That would increase our total number of donors and be a starting point for engagement with the end result being additional season tickets.
  9. I think Christian is going to be pretty good for us. Why isn't anyone thinking he will be a starter? He already knows the system. He played well when he got minutes. What am I missing?
  10. At least this guy knows something about us. I would say this prediction is accurate. Year one maybe this is okay. Going forward, not so much.
  11. Offense was not our problem the last two years. We rarely kept anyone from scoring at will. We could not tackle and had to move a LB to S just to get someone in the secondary to make contact. Also, we ran an odd man front the last two years. It would be nice if these people actually did a little research before writing about us. Just once, do the minimum amount of actual research.
  12. And I am really at a loss as to what the solution is. I regularly invite guests, many of whom are alumni. All enjoy and want to come again. None have bought their own tickets. They just want to be invited again. They buy NT gear and follow the team, but they don't come on their own.
  13. This is the number one thing holding us back. In every other area of comparison with our AAC peers, we are somewhere in the middle. Season tickets are our worst area of comparison by far. Too many walk up sales and not enough commitment from those on the fringe.
  14. Absolutely wear white. White helmets, jerseys, pants, socks. Make Cal stand in the sun. If they want porta coolers, they bring their own. Take every advantage.
  15. Buy season tickets and sit on the shady side. It will still be hot, but not as hot as general admission. Also, look at the Dolphins/Bills game early last year. The Dolphins outlasted the Bills and the heat was a major factor. Hopefully it will be again. This time the Mean Green prevail and the Bears wilt.
  16. UAB, where a couple of minor felonies aren't a problem. Now, get a third felony and maybe there is a problem. But just two...they can deal with that.
  17. News flash..... they have always been glorified, uninteresting scrimmages. They have already put in all the work and this is just for show. And yes, it will be boring.
  18. Febechi Nwaiwu was put on scholarship right before our first game last year. He ended up starting 12 games for us on the offensive line. He played very well.
  19. Always have thought the 1994 look was underappreciated. Also, one for one on conference championships in that helmet. Also like the 2020 white helmet with the green flying worms. Good find.
  20. Very few teams actually read the triple option anymore and most of the concepts can be run from the spread. The midline from the spread is still a lethal play. If you are willing to play a two back spread, you can still do most of what you want. It was a good fit for the service academies for the type of athletes they have to play. Spreading the field and matching athletes with others will not work out well for them.
  21. Maybe after he coaches somewhere else for several years. Without any experience..... no.
  22. I just know it will always be hard to get interest when home opponents are Omaha, Paul Quinn College, LSU Shreveport, Oklahoma Christian, LSU Alexandria, Southern Nazarene, Miss Valley State, Texas A&M Commerce, and Arkansas Pine Bluff. CUSA, which we all know it is good, doesn't create a lot of fan interest through the season either. Just too many teams most people have never heard of.
  23. Rally House Denton said yesterday that they were expecting a shipment on Monday
