  1. Nicely played. I was wondering the same thing. Rick, come back!
  2. From the early - mid 2000's teams, I'm OK with just Kennedy/Cobbs, and maybe Quinn, Brewster & Buckles. I liked Hall alot. I don't know if he is HOF worthy though?
  3. It already has better sightlines. Heck, the new stadium is almost as close to Fouts Field playing surface as the current Fouts field end zone seating.
  4. I missed out on this thread when it first started a few years ago, but would love to see if folks are sitting around me. I'm sure alot of you have had the same season tickets for a very long time, and some of you may have moved your tickets around... KingDL1, are you still keeping this up to date? If so, I have 2 seats in Sec. C Row 25 on the isle closest to the entry between C & D. (Seats 26 & 27 I believe?) I'd love to put some names with some faces, so stop by anytime!
  5. Micah is fast. No doubt there... but 4.53 is not the fastest 40 on the team.
  6. Micah Mosley?!?! Don't talk about... Micah Mosley?!?! Are you kiddn me?!?! Jamaal is probably the fastest guy, but I think D'Andre Wood might unseat him if he gets here.
  7. Behind Tecmo Bowl (the original with only 4 plays), this is the best NES game ever. Forget Zelda.
  8. BOOGER. Get him in there! I agree with CBL about Hall. If you include Hall, you need to start talking about Galbreath/Buckles/Quinn/etc...too many players. Those teams were awesome, but the HOF shouldn't be stacked with those guys. Kassell is already in as far as the LB's go.
  9. Either way (immediate firing, or post-season firing), you're more than likely lame-ducking through the rest of the season after an 0-3 start. Keep him on through the rest of the season and see if maybe something clicks?
  10. This is a chance for Dempsey, M. Bradley and Altidore to shine. The world knows (thanks Nike) that Donovan is an overhyped, just "good", player. Hopefully Gooch, Boca and the rest of the back line can handle the elite players they are about to face. Howard has nothing to prove as he is easily a top 10 keeper in the world. He could make himself a little more money though. The England game will be a good litmus test for the rest of the tourney. Right now, there is no reason to believe they won't advance to round 2. If they can beat (WOW!) or draw (nice!) England, then the Americans could have a special thing going. Spain is obviously the favorite and you can't go wrong with picking them or England because they are so strong, but I like the Italians to win it. I love the World Cup!
  11. IF we start 0-3 and we finish with 7 wins, folks we're talking about a possible conference championship and a N.O. bowl bid (including a win over Troy, MT, or KSt)! Fire him at 0-3, or wait for the end of the season... either way, you have a lame-duck coach for the season. If you fire him after a hypothetical 0-3 start, it doesn't matter if you promote D-Lo or Chico for the remainder, no matter how they do, they're gone when the new coach is hired. Ask R. McNeil at E.Carolina. Players will quit on the team and the whole year is lost this way. If you let him coach out the year after the hypothetical 0-3 start, then barring a miracle, there are surely more losses coming and the whole year is lost this way as well. At least there is a chance for the 2010 season to mean something here though. We have expectations. The team has expectations. Let's hope the team's expectations are greater than ours. Let's go coach Dodge! Prove your supporters (myself included) right!
  12. I chug the kool aid of the Mean Green variety like the rest of this board, but I do believe "Nine wins" would be over the top. You've gone from one of the most negative people on this board to past optimistic. You've explained your reasoning before, but I don't see the additions of some coaches (we could have hired Stoops/Caroll/Brown/Tressell in the offseason and I don't think the would have the kind of effect you're expecting from coach Chico. I expect positive changes, but not 9 wins.
  13. Could you imagine this guy behind a Sr. Dunbar? Whoa! The highlight vids are really good. *EDIT: Oops, this comment is meant for the Bullock story.
  14. Am I the only one who thinks the Rice game is NOT a gimme? I am fully expecting UNT to enter that game as an underdog. It would be a fantastic guage of where we are though. If we can beat Rice, then we should look for a 6-6 or 7-5 type season. If they beat us pretty bad, then more of the same... 3 wins max.
  15. I think "Yabba Dabba Doo!" translates: "Go away whitey!" in Kickapoo. I dunnno, you can never really trust Babelfish translations.
  16. It does. And, depending on how you look at it (Bad news is we cant see the whole building with this camera...Good news is the stadium will be so huge that it won't fit on this camera!), we won't be able to watch the construction of the away side of the stadium. Time to break out the wide-angle lens for this one! Exciting times indeed!
  17. Are you saying is the "SMU" of this superconference?
  18. My reasoning was simple. There are some that are travel partners like & and & , among others... Plus, we definitely don't want academic low-lifes like to be included in this upper echelon. & would not put up with this.
  19. Here's another super conference: Division A: Division B: These 'dream scenario type' threads, although imaginative and enjoyable, give me (and I'm sure others as well) tired-head...
  20. I hope they leave that mound in the center of your screenshot exactly where it is. It will be our calling card. Like Boise St. has blue turf, we'll have "the hill". We'll host a bowl game and everything! On second thought, remove "the hill" and lets just have a nice stadium.
  21. The prognosticators can write whatever they want. Until UNT shows major improvements on the field, expect to see low rankings like this. We know in our hearts that they should be ranked higher, but the players have to prove us right.
  22. Hang on with the congratulations: "UNT is set to consider a new contract for Rick Villarreal...." I hope they consider him worthy of an extension because there are many Mean Green fans that do. This is a no-brainer! But it's not a done deal.
  23. If we're forming a super coach, then we must also have Ron Washington's resilient nasal cavities. A coach can't think well if he has a sinus headache.
