  1. Dinger from Bengie is about the last thing I was expecting... This is going well.
  2. Strikeout to end the 2nd. Lee is looking good (well, sounding good).
  3. Trying to stream from KRLD and "The Fan" and neither are playing the game... What the??? Who is streaming it?
  4. I can't wait until the University of North Texas has "T-Shirt Alumni". I want fans of UT, A&M, OU, et al. to make references to their hatred of "UNT douches". One day....
  5. I would expect him to be more of a running QB using Riley's gameplan, rather than a pocket passer like Tune/Thompson.
  6. I really thought Davis was going to be on, if for only his defense. The guy can't swing a bat well, but he's got defensive skills. If we see a double down the 1st base line late in a game that causes the Rangers to lose a game, I would be very upset at this move. Let's just hope that doesn't happen. No love for Kirkman? Maybe they were just scared that he had only been a major-leaguer for a few weeks and couldn't handle playoff pressure? I guess you could say the same for Rapada. I wasn't expecting to See Lowe, and Harrison was a longshot with his confidence appearing to be shaken. Today's game falls squarely on Lee's shoulders. I'd love to see 8 strong innings out of him today. Don't let this thing get to the bullpen today, unless it's Nefti. Take game one, and win this thing at home in game 4.
  7. Uh, That wasn't the question. Do you like your job?
  8. What is this? Trigonometry or something? Go run your shady math on the Hobbit forum. Back on topic: I think it depends on what happens with coach Dodge. Does he turn it around this year? Conventional wisdom says chances are slim to none. But, there's still a chance. So, I'll hope for that, and if it doesn't happen, I'll be glad to speculate on the other options.
  9. There are others who are in this boat as well... Let's hear from all of you. The lines are open!
  10. Most of the students on campus at the time (freshmen/sophomores) knew Todd Dodge as the coach of SLC which at some point spanked the crud out of their High School team in the not too distant past. To say the students were swayed 0% by the football team being lead by Dodge can't be true. The vote probably would not have passed without guys like Flyer, but I'm pretty sure if Dickey were still the coach at the time this vote came through, it would have been much closer, if not failed. As a matter of fact, I was a student when there was a vote in the early 2000's for a new stadium, and it failed. You crusty GMG.com'ers probably remember that. That's the power of High School football in Texas. The students simply did not know Dickey. While I was at school, I knew the guy as a reserved, almost standoffish coach. Dodge is outgoing and (at the time of the vote) upbeat. Of course hindsight is 20/20.
  11. Correct. I did a poor job by neglecting part of the audience. Not everyone was able to enjoy the windmill boys banter. In seriousness, I do believe the shoes should be looked at. However, I don't believe it's the cause. Isn't this injury usually caused by a foot getting stepped on? I'm not sure how Hamilton's injury occurred, but I'm pretty sure that was how JJ Johnson's happened.
  12. Yeah. It matters. Actually, you're right, it's not how many guys... its which guys are out. We're missing some extremely critical cogs.
  13. Newfan, are you with Nike or Adidas or something? Because we're really tired of people hawking stuff on here... If not, then hopefully this has at least been looked at.
  14. Rangers in 2. The whippings will be so lopsided that TB simply concedes game 3 because they don't want to get on the plane. If the Rangers can steal one of the first 2 in TB, I'll take the Rangers in 4. If not, I'll take TB in 4.
  15. Well, you'd have to be crazy not to at least LOOK at the injuries...? And again, I'll say it: No Excuses. This is simply the awful, awful hand Dodge has been dealt this year. Time to make lemonade out of the abundance of lemons, or pack up the office.
  16. I'm guessing this is what Riley's forearm was looking like if his wrist is broken. Minus the anchor tats.
  17. I think the Denia HOA tried that one already...unsuccessfully, so we're good.
  18. When did this happen? He was in the game until the bitter end. Hopefully he can go on Saturday.
  19. Excellent! ...Meaning you'll be there cheering for our guys? Probably because you have pride in your university.
  20. Here's one (the main reason I'll be there): PRIDE in your University!
  21. MeanGreenSports Mens golf finished second at the Tucker Intercollegiate Tournament in New Mexico, 1 shot behind 7th ranked San Diego State, and ahead of #1 Pepperdine and #24 Baylor! Carlos Ortiz finished the tourney tied for the overall individual champion. Congrats Mean Green Golf!!
  22. Thanks for all you do Rick! Happy Birthday!
