  1. I think 40% chance it's Thompson, 40% chance Berglund, and 40% chance McNulty.
  2. That's a fantastic start! Can't wait for the matchup that could sway voters to swap Mitchell for McDermott.
  3. Bynes has been under-achieving his whole tenure. He has some nice ability, but lately it seems like if DT is not hitting him in stride, he makes little to no effort to get the ball.
  4. Fortenberry is being overlooked. So is Atterbury. Both of those guys are bigger losses than Phillips.
  5. It's hard to read all of these Hamilton opinions... seems very short-sighted. The Rangers finish a distant 3rd in the division (maybe last) without him. Even in his slump, he is a feared hitter that opens up a ton of opportunities for Beltre. I'd hate for him to go to Boston (or heaven forbid, another AL West team) and pound Texas every time they play against him. Could not believe Wash put Profar out there with him running the risk of being the final out. I think it could have possibly messed with his head if he were to have popped or grounded out. Instead, he comes through in the clutch... Get him out there next year!
  6. Good luck getting that new job with your failed drug test and DWI booking CBL!!
  7. Hopefully he goes to the NBA and becomes a superstar, then comes back to UNT to finish up his degree a-la Shaq and a host of other superstar athletes.
  8. I'm seeing this type of score all over the place. I'll be genuinely shocked if either team hits 28. Doesn't seem like these prognosticators have been watching UNT or UH football this year.
  9. Bingo. That, and the team's confidence will drop if he misses in a crucial time, which this game being close, will be at all times.
  10. Sure. I'll lament a loss that should have been a win. FYI, I'm only predicting a close win for the Green. What is your score prediction? I'd like to see what you honestly believe the score will be.
  11. I agree CBL. I think offensively, coach Canales is going to throw the kitchen sink at this game as it will either put us at .500, or .333 going into conference play. This game is going to be a defensive struggle. If FAU-Olen shows up: UNT:20 - Houston:17 If Troy-Olen shows up: UNT: 7 - Houston: 24
  12. I just have 1 question for CougarKing: When UNT wins this weekend, will you come back to eat crow? Or, will we never see you again?
  13. If I were a fan of Creighton, I would probably feel the same way. Creighton is coming off a fantastic season and are ranked in the top 25. They return an All-American to boot! UNT is a no-name team, and so if I were a fan of Creighton, I would have to go look at last year's stats to get an idea about them. They were not very good... Of course, we know the issue with last year was because for 1/2 of the year, we did not have Tony Mitchell, and for the other 1/2, we did not have Jones/Williams. Now, what I don't understand is that despite knowing that Tony Mitchell is a potential NBA lottery pick, they still do not really give a flip. We can only hope their players feel the same way, but I'm pretty sure that McDermott doesn't because he saw Tony Mitchell up-close and personal at the Amare camp this summer.
  14. I heard they had a 5* bass drum transfer in from Indiana! I hope our bass' are ready to step up.
  15. Bulletin board material for Tony? Is coach Marlin saying he cant score 60?
  16. This guy is no TulsaFaninTexas. He was probably my favorite troll ever.
  17. Precisely. His game will do most of the talking, but hopefully he's pushed over the edge by help from marketing/campaigning to where he's not in the "I would also have to consider..." category.
  18. OK. Here's another chance for you to answer 2 straightforward questions: Moving forward, against FBS competition and a salty FCS McNeese, how many games to you expect UTSA to win? I'm saying 0, maybe 1. Once they finish out the year 0-fer, what will their attendance look like?
  19. Keep who? The guy in AAUNT's link is not even committed to us... and do we really want him?
  20. You know, the more I see Tony Mitchell's name come up in the media, it is starting to be tagged with something like "Potential All-American", or "Sleeper for All-American honors". I hope this thread doesn't delve into the depths of the perpetual Athletic-Department-isn't-doing-enough argument, but I would love to know what is being done to help get Tony on the All-American voters' radars more than he already is. I know that it mostly boils down to how he plays, but I'm really confident in what he does on the court... Off the court, he seems like an awesome dude as well. No character issues, humble, overall great guy. I know the fans have a small part in pumping him up (maybe some signs from our favorite signmaker ladies), and I certainly hope that the AD has earmarked some funds to Tony's All-American campaign. But, since Tony made the best decision of his career coming to little ol' North Texas, he waved his chances at playing on national TV all the time, so the media won't really get a chance to see him. I think his best chances of making an All-American squad would be for UNT to make it to at least the finals of the preseason NIT, beat at least 1 out of the 3 big non-conference matchups outside of the preseason NIT tourney (Lehigh, St Louis, Creighton), and finally, win a regular-season SBC championship (plus the SBC tourney) with a nice seed in the NCAA tourney to possibly upset someone and make noise (else win, or at least quarterfinal/semifinal in the postseason NIT). I think he can do it, because I think this TEAM can do it!
  21. Just ask coach Benford for your performers... unless you're looking for a different kind of 'performer'?
  22. For sure. Right now, the UNT coaching staff is having to really explain themselves to recruits like, "Hey, we played KSU really close through 3 quarters. I mean, we outgained them on the ground, and we dominated time of posession against a top 10 team! We need your help to get us to the next level." And, "Hey, we held the vaunted LSU defense without a sack and we were able to rack up some big plays on them!" Those things don't sound the same as, "Hey, we're 5-0. We're winning. Come join us. Look, we're beating everyone they put in front of us. We're going the right direction! Our competition level is about to step up, but we know our system works, we just want you to join us." Now, 3-4 weeks from now, coach Coker won't be able to say all that. He'll have to explain himself like coach McCarney and staff are doing, except he'll have to explain it coming against the likes of San Jose St. & Idaho rather than LSU & KS St.
  23. 2 offenses that are not clicking and 2 defenses that are excelling. I bet you're right.
  24. We're fighting the same battle bro. I was just answering your question. I hate it as well...
