  1. A lot of you guys still haven't learned.... Many times, dudes transferring from a High-Major/P5 to NT looking for more PT aren't nearly as good as dudes transferring from a Low-Major/FCS, or even D2.
  2. I guess he wasn't lying when he said he wanted out of his NLI to be somewhere closer to home. Not sure what his home situation is like (maybe he has family that needs help?), but UCA is much closer to it.
  3. Honestly, after I read this, I chuckled because... no way. Then I thought about it a little bit, and I chuckled again because I agree. Then I thought about it some more, and I began sobbing.
  4. Probably saw what he had to work with, then started weighing his options.
  5. There's no salary cap structure out here in the Wild Wild West of NIL.
  6. 1st scenario is more probable than not. 2nd scenario is not likely.
  7. Pretty sure Harry's is called "Mean Green Collective".
  8. Spoken like a true fan. I get it. Coach Hodge's relationship with his players is markedly different though. These players are people. He genuinely cares about them, and if they feel like they have an opportunity (whatever that opportunity is: more PT, money, "prestige", etc...) then he might encourage them to pursue it, while keeping the door open to come home & "invest in our program and make it great".
  9. That's pretty much every single coach & system out there. Basic staples of "TEAM". And players know what they're getting into.
  10. I'm here too. Aside from Scott, I think struggling high-majors will be blinded by Edwards' PPG, and he'll get a deal somewhere as well... but he might have the same disappointing outcome as Reese & Drez. As for Rubin, CJ, & Buggs, I just think there are SO MANY other players out there for these high-majors to choose from... I don't know that they're going to get what they're looking for (something like Georgia Tech or some other ACC/SEC bottom-dweller offering a little more money, but not a promise of PT), and it may be best to return to a winning NT for a little less $, but a chance to do something big, but who knows?
  11. Honestly, I would not be surprised if Coach Hodge encouraged the guys to dip their feet in the portal to see if they can't secure more money elsewhere. He loves these players, and wants what's best for them. I highly doubt he subscribes to the Littrell mantra of, "Once you're gone, you're gone". I bet he still keeps in touch with them, letting them know that they still have spots here (with the same, if not more NIL$) if they don't get what they're looking for elsewhere. As has been stated several times before... Coach Hodge is cut from the JUCO cloth. Turnover is constant in the JUCO world. He knows how to deal with this.
  12. That only shows the Light The Tower collective. There are others... including the one Harry has on this very site!
  13. Pretty sure about 90% of folks around here would rather see these two kick rocks than put on Green and represent us ever again, sadly.
  14. The portal is absolutely flooded. Wonder if we'll see some of these guys back on the squad in 24-25. I would think our collectives have enough $ to counter any peer mid-majors from taking our guys, but I doubt we'll be able to counter any high-major NIL$.
  15. Holy cow. Looking over this roster, I recognize maybe 1/4 of the names. 😢
  16. I didn't even remember. Not sure how anyone could think Rajon Rondo's or Lamar Odom's tenures weren't worse. As for the thread, I think it's really funny that 2-5 days prior, everyone was citing Buggs as an important returning piece (I guess they were assuming he couldn't/wouldn't transfer again?), and then as soon as this news hits, he's "special needs", "one-dimensional player", and "easily replaceable". People continually misguiding their anger to the players instead of the system.
  17. I’m pretty sure countless dudes like Matt Phillips & DJ Draper “sacrificed and gave their all for the betterment of their teams and the school.” We letting them in the HOF? … Or do you have to actually merit it with outstanding results on the field/court? When Hope Trautwein (arguably the most prolific player not named Joe Greene ever to play for UNT in any sport) gets in the HOF, are you gonna be upset about it? I know you wouldn’t be alone if you were.
  18. Are we seriously setting next year’s bar at .500? I know we’ve experienced a lot of heartbreaks & let-downs over the years, but I have faith in Hodge. I encourage you to join me. Where do I collect my winnings?
  19. NC State is “that damn team”. Playing with utmost confidence, and complete belief they’re going to win the second they hit the floor. I would not be surprised if they beat Purdue. That said, UConn is a special team. I’d be surprised if they don’t cut down the nets.
  20. Do what's best for you and your family. I hope you succeed! ...but I'm probably in the minority around here.
  21. Believe me, if I hit the Powerball, ya'll are gonna notice a lot of nice players showing up wearing Green, and I'm going to have a bunch of autographed Mean Green paraphernalia. There's no justification... just the way it is now. The players "earn" the money with their level of play. Be it, in high school, or college.
  22. Duh! "Value" is in the eye of the cash holder. If a bunch of wealthy alumni/donors want a dude on their team, they offer him a NIL deal of $X (whatever that number is they want to spend), and then get him to sign a basketball for each of the donors. That's pretty much all it takes.
