  1. Was hoping to see Farrar step up this year. Called Bradford once Gilbert left.
  2. With all of the L's the NCAA is taking lately when they're challenged in courts... they'd likely win.
  3. Well, he was certainly in line to be that guy this coming season.
  4. She makes it sound like CJ felt Coach Hodge was not 100%-honest (transparent) with him. I can't imagine that being the case, as Coach Hodge seems to be very up front & open with his players.
  5. That's weird, I guess the most recently completed season doesn't count? I'm sorry Lifer, but everything prior to 21-22 (when Pitino showed up at UNM), and honestly, prior to 23-24 (when Hodge took over at UNT) needs to be removed when comparing the two teams for players who are actually playing RIGHT NOW. Those other programs belonged to different people. When talking about recent success for dudes who are considering playing for both schools, the only thing that matters is this past year and future predictive success (re: momentum). Unfortunately, NT is on the wrong side of both of those factors as of right now.
  6. If you're a basketball player, aren't you more concerned with basketball goings-on, like gameday atmosphere, level of competition, opportunities to play for championships, etc...? Also: UNT finished this past season 19-15 with a NET ranking of 79 (7th in AAC) UNM finished this past season 26-10, with a NET ranking of 22 and an at-large 11 seed in the NCAA tournament as the 6th place finisher in the MWC. Seems like maybe the NCAA tournament selection committee "cares about them". Given the above, it would seem UMN's program is a little more "competitive recently".
  7. I'll miss CJ. Those of you saying it's a "lateral move" have never been to a game in the Pit, or have any knowledge of the overall CBB landscape, with MWC basketball being a very respected conference. They have a rabid fanbase, and I'm willing to bet the bump in NIL is noticeable. The Pit is an incredible facility that I hope NT's new arena will be modeled after. I got to take in the NT victory over UNM back in McCasland's 2nd year. One of my favorite memories of NT Sports.
  8. This is a lot of typing to try and spin the bolded part. 😬😬
  9. psh. I'd rather be Frenchy's Famous than have tons of money. Let's just get these transfers' names on a big orange yard truck off Dallas Dr. and watch all of the 5*s roll in.
  10. A lot of you guys still haven't learned.... Many times, dudes transferring from a High-Major/P5 to NT looking for more PT aren't nearly as good as dudes transferring from a Low-Major/FCS, or even D2.
  11. I guess he wasn't lying when he said he wanted out of his NLI to be somewhere closer to home. Not sure what his home situation is like (maybe he has family that needs help?), but UCA is much closer to it.
  12. Honestly, after I read this, I chuckled because... no way. Then I thought about it a little bit, and I chuckled again because I agree. Then I thought about it some more, and I began sobbing.
  13. Probably saw what he had to work with, then started weighing his options.
  14. There's no salary cap structure out here in the Wild Wild West of NIL.
  15. 1st scenario is more probable than not. 2nd scenario is not likely.
  16. Pretty sure Harry's is called "Mean Green Collective".
  17. Spoken like a true fan. I get it. Coach Hodge's relationship with his players is markedly different though. These players are people. He genuinely cares about them, and if they feel like they have an opportunity (whatever that opportunity is: more PT, money, "prestige", etc...) then he might encourage them to pursue it, while keeping the door open to come home & "invest in our program and make it great".
  18. That's pretty much every single coach & system out there. Basic staples of "TEAM". And players know what they're getting into.
  19. I'm here too. Aside from Scott, I think struggling high-majors will be blinded by Edwards' PPG, and he'll get a deal somewhere as well... but he might have the same disappointing outcome as Reese & Drez. As for Rubin, CJ, & Buggs, I just think there are SO MANY other players out there for these high-majors to choose from... I don't know that they're going to get what they're looking for (something like Georgia Tech or some other ACC/SEC bottom-dweller offering a little more money, but not a promise of PT), and it may be best to return to a winning NT for a little less $, but a chance to do something big, but who knows?
  20. Honestly, I would not be surprised if Coach Hodge encouraged the guys to dip their feet in the portal to see if they can't secure more money elsewhere. He loves these players, and wants what's best for them. I highly doubt he subscribes to the Littrell mantra of, "Once you're gone, you're gone". I bet he still keeps in touch with them, letting them know that they still have spots here (with the same, if not more NIL$) if they don't get what they're looking for elsewhere. As has been stated several times before... Coach Hodge is cut from the JUCO cloth. Turnover is constant in the JUCO world. He knows how to deal with this.
  21. That only shows the Light The Tower collective. There are others... including the one Harry has on this very site!
  22. Pretty sure about 90% of folks around here would rather see these two kick rocks than put on Green and represent us ever again, sadly.
  23. The portal is absolutely flooded. Wonder if we'll see some of these guys back on the squad in 24-25. I would think our collectives have enough $ to counter any peer mid-majors from taking our guys, but I doubt we'll be able to counter any high-major NIL$.
