  1. Did anyone get hurt? Keith
  2. Does anyone recall if he pulled Atkinson after his personal foul? That's the kind of disciplinarian we need. These personal foul calls are way out of hand. Asu 2-7 at Nt25 PENALTY NT personal foul (Atkinson, S.) 13 yards to the NT12, 1ST DOWN ASU. I was flipping through the channels earlier in the day and saw Clemson's head coach Dabo Swinney go nuts. He immediately pulled a 3 year starter off the field and sat him on the bench after a stupid personal foul penalty. Keith
  3. That is really funny. Well done. Glad to see Arky State is keeping up. Keith
  4. I didn't think about it on the first TD, but I definitely thought about it on the second one. Conventional wisdom says you do that (go for the win right then and there) on the road and not necessarily at home, but I just thought that this was an opportunity to make a statement and put the game away without looking to OT. Of course if we did that and didn't make it than everyone would be yelling for heads to roll (as if they aren't already). Hindsight is 20/20 and we have been good on PATs so far this year, just not when we needed one the most. Seems like that is our calling card these days. Keith
  5. Here are some tailgating and game action pics one of our group took at the Army game. Click Here Keith
  6. Question for you BeatNavy....what's the story behind all the people (cadets?) walking around the stadium in various costumes? Keith
  7. CBL, it was nice to meet you and chat for a few minutes. How crazy that after everything we end up pulling into the parking lot and park right next to each other? The game was definitely a bummer, but the campus and surroundings were beautiful, the Army fans were great, the stadium and atmosphere was fantastic so all in all, a great day. Brother was up from Dallas, brother-in-law up from Atlanta and pulled in some friends that were Mean Green fans for at least a day (maybe longer if the on-field performance didn't scare them away). Not sure I like noon games....just felt like we were really compressed for time and didn't give us enough opportunity to soak in everything. Also, because of the layout of the campus, we get broken up into smaller parking lots, so you feel a little isolated from the rest of the campus activity, but a really enjoyable experience none the less. We took some good pictures that I'll try to post or provide a link to later (I think we even captured you in the backgound of one). Keith
  8. That's some funny stuff....Love it! Keith
  9. These storms arrived a little earlier than predicted. Powerful line movinging through right now, but clear behind it. There was even a tornado warning issued for Queens. We need the rain, but not all at once. Keith
  10. These have traditionally been relatively low scoring affairs. Last year especially with only 30 total points put up on the board. However, after analyzing all the data (thanks BeatNavy), I'm going with the following: Army - 31 North Texas - 33 This time it's the other team that gives up the 4th quarter lead as The Mean Green win in a nail-biter. Keith
  11. This is cool.... SATURDAY’S UNIFORM PATCH The Black Knights will be wearing the unit patch of the 1st Calvary Division when they take on North Texas. The 1st Calvary is stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. Its roots date back to 1855. The 2nd Cavalry Regiment was redesignated the 5th Calvary in 1861, and this unit particpated in a number of Civil War battles, including Bull Run, Antietam, Gettysburg, Wilderness and Appomatox. With the initiation of the National Defense Act, the 1st Calvary was offi cially activated in 1921 at Fort Bliss, having the 5th, 7th, 8th and 9th Calvary Regiments assigned to the division. The 1st Calvary was dubbed the “First Team” by Maj. Gen. William C. Chase. 12. Being a fan/follower of North Texas Athletics is like getting sucked into a real life soap opera/reality TV show that never has a season finale or series ending episode. The cast of characters, the ups and downs, twists and turns, the elation and heartache, the hijinx and shenanigans...and, oh, the drama, all played out on a stage that is Denton, Texas. It must be boring to be a fan of Texas, Ohio State, Florida, Alabama, et cetera....yawn. They've got nothing on The Mean Green Nation! Just think how lucky we are. Be thankful my friends, be thankful. Keith
  13. Thanks Green59. I believe the Blue Gate is also called the Washington Gate. I assume that means we will be parking in one of the blue lots on the northeast side of campus (maybe). There is also mention of Orange lots for general admission, but I don't see any of those on the map. We'll just go with the flow and park where they tell us. The Mean Green Club tent is supposed to be near lot "G" which is one of the red lots. According to the linked parking guide below, lot G is located almost due north of Michie Stadium. Link to big PDF. Map is on the second page. https://admin.xosn.com/fls/11100//Football%202010/84210_West%20Point%20Parking.p1.pdf?&DB_OEM_ID=11100 Weather forecast still calls for a perfect day - abundant sunshine, highs in the low 70s, 0% chance of precipitation. For those making the trip up here, this is a great time of year weatherwise IMHO. Keith

  16. Weather looks to be beautiful for game day. Current forecast for Saturday, Sept. 18th Sunny Low: 56 High: 74 Chance of precipitation: 0% Keith
  17. There are 13 in our group. If you're coming from New Haven, what time are you planning to start your journey in the morning? What are you doing about parking? I was looking on-line and it said for general admission parking passes enter through the Washington gate to be directed to the appropriate parking area (referred to as Orange), but then there are only Green, Red and Blue lots/shuttle routes. Don't forget about bringing your IDs. All fans 16 and over must show ID to get onto campus. Is there going to be a North Texas tent or anything setup somewhere? Keith
  18. The student side was packed and rocking all game long. Looked great on the on-line feed. During the one scan of the alumni side I saw, it looked like that side was pretty full as well. Light years from the days when you could literally count the number of fans in the stands. It's unfortunate that we can't seem to capitalize on these opportunities, but the team played their hearts out. Thanks to all the students, former students and fans that came out in force on a steamy night. The team deserves and needs your continued support this year. It was an entertaining game to watch on-line, big plays, big hits, momentum swings, fourth quarter drama.....just not the ending we wanted. GMG...Beat Army! Keith
  19. Same here. I'm not having any problems and I'm way up here in Connecticut. Keith
  20. North Texas / Troy score update on the ticker as the guy is running in the back of the end-zone. That's kinda weird. Keith
  21. I don't think it was the $5M buyout that drove USU's decision. They were just holding fast to the position they thought all the other WAC members had agreed to. BYU was going to leave the MWC and rejoin the WAC (except for football) although they were going to play a lot of the WAC schools in football just not as a conference game. As I understand it this was the deal and all the WAC members knew it and took an oath to stick together and make it happen. The $5M was a part of that committment and USU was living up to it's word. At the 11th hour Fresno St and Nevada did a 180 on the WAC and accepted invites to the MWC. Basically, the hunted (the WAC when MWC went after Boise St) became the hunter when it tried to get BYU back and then became the hunted again when the MWC pulled the rug out from under the WAC and poached Fresno St and Nevada. Keith
  22. They did not say Riley is a Senior, they said he will be graduating after this year. Academically, this is his Junior year, right? It's not unheard of to complete your degree program and graduate in 3 years, so it is definitely possible. This is the first I've heard this. Do they know something we don't? Keith
  23. Thoughts and prayers with you and your family Rick. Keith
  24. Looks like it.....that's pretty cool. Keith
  25. I got a lead all the way up here. Has anyone heard of a possible TE transfer from Northeastern University (dropped its football program)? Name of the transfer is Conor Gilmartin (also seen as Conor Gilmartin-Donohue). http://twitter.com/conorochonueve - says "Bio Former NU Tight End #89, now Tight End at North Texas" http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=185471 - Good size 6'6" 253.
