  1. Here we go again. We have to find a way to score down the stretch.
  2. If Tulane beating USC in a major bowl game doesn't get you excited about entering the AAC, I don't know what will. The horizon offers so much for our university and our potential is sky high from here. We need to seize this moment to win immediately starting next season. Coach Morris and these kids need our undying support, no excuses. See you at Apogee in '23!!!
  3. I had not heard this. So Cobbs was retained?!?!?!?!?
  4. He said that he didn't like that the two private schools to the south don't give us any respect and that's he gonna change that. Said that we're gonna line up play after play and hit them in the mouth.
  5. Currently on ESPN2. UIW jumps to a quick lead 16-0. While he wasn't there this year, this is an Eric Morris built team.
  6. My question is, who on our staff is recruiting him right now? It would seem odd for him to commit without knowing who would even be on staff.
  7. C-USA is the new Sun Belt from 20+ years ago. A conference made up of teams making the fresh jump to D-1 football. Sad how far C-USA has fallen in the last decade.
  8. Hope we can make some free throws down the stretch.
  9. Riley would probably be the biggest gamble of the names that have been mentioned. There is a lot of upside with him though. He would bring immediate attention and name recognition to UNT, he is obviously a young, bright offensive mind, has worked for a great mentor (Dykes) and has a very successful mentor to lean on (his brother). I think the biggest hurdle with him would be if we wants this job. We would have to give him a hard sales pitch to get him to Denton but I think it could be done.
  10. From our ticket site. 11. Any idea which side of the stadium we're on?
  12. It's our defense that I can't stand. 124th in total defense, 107th in rushing defense, 115th in passing yards allowed, 110th in scoring defense, 123rd in 3rd down conversion, and 127th in 1st down defense. Arguably the worst defense in the country. If anything, this is Littrell's crux. We have consistently been good at moving the ball and scoring points. We have been absolutely atrocious at resembling a Division I defense the last many years.
  13. With Wren leaving us at a very important inflection point, who is the man in charge of making a decision on Littrell's fate? The timing of Wren's departure, in my mind, couldn't be worse as time is not on our side. A decision needs to be made and it needs to be made quickly. The longer we wait, the more the coaching candidate pool shrinks. So who is behind the wheel here?
  14. I'm guessing it is football coach related. The X's indicate programs without a head coach and the one green check is because Charlotte has hired a replacement already.
  15. Don't the let the forecast scare you away. We should be in good shape by kickoff.
  16. I'm not overly concerned here, as I don't take much stock in these ranking systems. How many years running has UT had top 10 recruiting classes? I digress......
  17. Much of this will come down if we are healthy at RB, Shorter (haven't seen any updates on him), and which QB plays better. Haters are gonna hate but Aune has been solid the last many weeks. I'll take the Mean Green in a close one. UNT - 27 UAB - 24
  18. I can honestly say that I've watched about two quarters of mid-week MAC football this year. Just not overly exciting to watch.
  19. If we win @ UAB, we are all but assured a rematch in San Antonio, unless Rice wins @ WKU, vs. UTSA, and beats us in Denton. I don't think there is any lack of motivation for us playing full tilt towards that rematch in the C-USA championship. And you heard it here first, but when two teams are evenly matched, it always hard to beat someone twice in one season. A rematch with UTSA will undoubtedly be a heavy weight fight but it's one that I look forward to.
  20. This game on the road @ UAB will tell us what kind of team we have. You are right, UAB is still a tough opponent, especially on the road. I fully expect us to -7 underdogs going into this one. But we were -10 on our last two road trips and nearly beat UTSA and dominated WKU.
  21. I would say this team is very focused. This has been about as good of a five week stretch as we've seen in awhile. Big game next week in Birmingham. A win there and a Rice loss vs either WKU or UTSA, and you can book your hotel for San Antonio on 12/2.
  22. It appears Vegas has not given up on UAB yet (at least on their home turf). Vegas has the line at UTSA (-1). If UAB were to pull off the victory, it could open the door for us to host the championship game in Denton. This of course would require us to win out and UTSA slip up again. I understand that this is highly unlikely at this point, but hey, it's November in College Football Land. Crazier things have happened!
