  1. I'd suggest getting there 2-3 hours before hand. It normally is $10 per car to park, I think I read in my ticket info that to park an RV is like $50, but you might call the ticket office to check.
  2. "It will be interesting to see how our D line stacks up against less talented O lines. The key will be getting a lead to force them to pass. Our pass rush is much improved this year with Evans, but unfortunately we haven't been able to force teams to pass. I'm sure UNT will get there yards, but I don't see them running over us. Its taken exceptional backs making exceptional plays to get yards on us. I don't think these guys are ever close to the first 2 guys we've faced. Getting the lead is the key though" I guess it's time to head over and introduce ourselves to the Tulsa board.
  3. My thoughts - The first half was TOUGH! I was not very enthusiastic as to the rest of the season to say the very least. Having had a whole 20 minutes to think about the outcome though here I go. Every aspect of our game got BETTER as the game went on. - Let's not forget there are a bunch of new guys here. They need time to gel. Not having our first game hurt us tremendously coming into this one. The defense seeemed to get it together as a group towards the end. Individual play was HUGE with the 5 turnovers. I think the game went as everyone thought it would as for our offense. Everyone knew we'd need to run the ball so they stacked the line. Meager (which never got rotated with Phillips by the way) performed well for a freshman. He seemed to struggle on the long balls a little - underthrowing on most of them. great catch by "The Mighty" Quinn. (Who knew he was "violently ill" all week???) I liked that they threw the ball to Cobbs - that play seemed to work well. Wish I had seen more J-MO but that's why they pay the coaches. Cobbs had a good night considering all of the above. Stacked line and inexperienced QB make running hard. Having replaced our safeties I thought they did an outstanding job! I'm not too concerned with Tulsa. They had a decent showing against OU, but so did TCU. OU may be on a down year, let's not completely over rate them. We now have our first week to observe and make adjustments. I think we'll DEFINITLY be better next week and I'd expect more passing. All in all it was ugly, but it was a win which is all that matters. Great way to start the season. So much was riding on this one, and the guys did a good job rising up to the challenge. Their confidence level just went up a notch which is good for a young group. I kind of look at it as our first half was like our first game - adjustments were made and we came out and made some plays in the second half. On another note. I wish a speedy recovery on the wide receiver (C. Henry) who broke his leg. That's the one part of football that always brings you down is knowing that a talented receiver won't be playing again for a while if at all. WAY TO GO MEAN GREEN! Beat the crap out of TULSA! ! !
  4. just called - got about the same thing. They'll discuss when they get back in town, so it wouldn't be official until early next week. That's not a whole lot of time to get many tickets bought unless they're just going to donate them. I hope they decide to do this. Maybe they could give out some cheap north Texas T-shirts as well? GMG!!!
  5. Well yes, he's the guy that calls all of our games on the radio. So HOMER is probably a pretty good word to describe him, especially considering he went to North Texas......and since we're playing MTSU. He also picked Ohio State to beat UT.
  6. George, Craig and a caller were going through a bunch of games for this weekend, and when they got to North Texas vs MTSU, they were all confused by us being underdogs. Craig asked if their mascot was the Mad Hatter, which I thought was pretty cool, and then George Dunham said "Give me Middle Tennessee....to get their asses kicked up between their shoulder blades. I pick North Texas". It was pretty funny, and they said Mad Hatter, so on some level I'm famous.....or something.
  7. I'd buy a couple tickets for some folks. How does something like this get coordinated?
  8. Did we red shirt that "smaller" running back? I think his name is Robertson or something like that.Man that guy can move! It'd be a shame to not have him on the field this year, but I'd imagine he wouldn't play too much with our #1 and #2 guys.
  9. Good Grief! I hope he's wrong on the final score - that close of a game will give me ulcers. I love this time of year! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!
  10. Maybe off subject, but couldn't the Athletic Dept give free tickets to any of those folks? I'm not sure how they'd all get to and from the game, but it would be a nice gesture. Maybe some of the metroplex churches could use their buses to bring them? That could also help to get some locals to watch the game as well.
  11. I think this one will be close, as we get our feet beneath us in the season opener. Still, I think by the 4th quarter, the RB duo will have worn out the MTSU defense. NT 27 MTSU 20 We may be playing catch up though. GO MEAN GREEN!!!
  12. let's hope all the Belt teams win except MTSU. Go Belt!
  13. Of course it doesn't say that your food and/or drinks would be paid for by the Exes. It just says to come out to a game watching party with other alums. Sounds innocent enough to me. I may try to attend.
  14. Wan't the SMU team ranked coming into this game? That's a huge win for our girls! Way to go! GMG!!!
  15. I think for Comcast it's #27 or something around there. It's KFWD if I remember correctly from last year.
  16. I've seen some speculation, and decided we need our very own thread. What will the first offensive play be? How about: J-Mo and Cobbs are both on the field. We fake to one, then the other, and then pass to the tight end for 10 yards and a first down?
  17. Welcome to the board - officially. And thanks for getting something organized for our fellow alums! GMG!!!
  18. Any other thoughts? How did Meager look? My daughter got her Jr Mean Green Club stuff in the mail yesterday. Her Football buddy is J-Mo! I'm so pumped! She's 3 years old and I don't think she grasps the situation.
  19. It's so hard to imagine. I've been watching news coverage that showed the refugees walking up the ramp outside the Super Dome, and I keep thinking "I was there", "on that very ramp". Those people are the same folks we saw when we were down there. Been thinking about them all day. Hope everyone makes it out OK. God be with them.
