    This changed this year --
The NCAA allows recruits an unlimited number of official visits to Division I schools. Recruits are limited to one per school, unless there is a head coaching change after their visit, in which they are permitted a second visit.

Is that new? 2021 volleyball recruiting didn’t work that way.  If that’s the case then I can see how the rule change would make sense.

  2. Recruits only get so many Official Visits (I think it's 3)but are allowed to schedule as many Unofficial Visits as they want (because the school doesn't pay for it). In my daughters experience going through the volleyball recruiting process, the Visit experience was the same for her whether it was Official or Unofficial, the only difference is whether I had to pay for travel, lodging and food or not.  She loved the photoshoot at each of the schools and would look back at those pics, imagining herself representing that school, during the decision process. I guess I can see how local schools might get abused by recruits bringing friends along on visits, but to me that's more of the schools fault for not making it clear who the visit is for and what the recruit can expect vs anyone they bring along. I'm not a fan of this decision.

  3. My daughter just started up at The University of Dayton, where basketball is king and they consistently sell out their 13k seat stadium. Basketball is big business and the students (school size around 10k) are often on a waiting list for tickets.  The University created a way to increase your chances of getting tickets to the games, and it's through a points system. Living on campus gets you a certain number of points, but attending other sporting events earns you points as well. They get a pretty consistently loud student section at volleyball, soccer, WBB, etc because people want the points to increase ability to attend the basketball games in the student section. Now I know we currently don't have a sporting event that is so highly coveted that this system would work, but I wonder if we could do something like offer a discount on tuition, or get free books, or SOMETHING, and students could earn points towards that goal with a point system for attending sporting events.  You might end up accidentally creating a culture of people who truly enjoy going to the games and become lifelong fans if they are given an incentive to go to the games?  Just spit balling ideas.

Hey, we all choose our hills to die on.

Mine is that star trek voyager was better than TNG. I'll take any of you on over that.

But our QB problem isn't so black and white. OL is poor. Receivers drop more balls than magic mike.

There's 99 things to fix on this team. We are starting to see how much we miss our WR corps

Deep Space 9 was the best series.

  5. My daughter is being recruited for volleyball by several schools.  UTSA just sent her a packet of info.  I wanted to make sure she had seen the “cannon” video before she gets any ideas about them, but now I can’t find the video.  Anyone on here have it?
