  1. What? One of the top offenses in the country. A middling defense wins lots of stuff.
  2. It's easy for them to tell UNT how to spend money. My wife (an OU grad, die hard OU football fan, SL fan, has family members that played for OU) said to me just the other night, "He's been there 7 years? That's a long time for not having accomplished much."
  3. I'm happy the Murphy twins got the chance to move on to a place they wanted to be. I hope they are as thankful for the place that gave Littrell and Murphy's the opportunity to get to where they wanted to go. That is, after all, the purpose of the University...
  4. Surely McMurphy understands that more needs to change than just a coach, but it ignites the fire in a fanbase to find new resources. I hope Seth goes on to coach at his dream job and win another national championship. OU fans and fans at schools with endless resources have no clue how schools at our level look at these things.
  5. Seth would probably tell you he and Harrell got super Lucky to hear about Mason Fine. I doubt it was luck that led to them offering a scholarship and starting Mason as a true freshmen Seth's first year here.
  6. I am hoping for a hire similar to his hire. it just didn't work out long term, but worked out for the first 3-4 years. Experienced coach with offensive mind. Hired to raise the profile and bar of the program. I hope we are looking for all those things again.
  7. This was likely no surprise to Seth. Last year he came really close.
  8. had a far from poor tenure at UNT but wasn't great either. Program ceiling is higher than where it is now with current facilities, conference and salaries. Not won more than 7 games since 2018. At one point in 2022, UNT was 10-1 in conference games. Thinks the job is "very good" and will get a lot of interest.
  9. The Athletic has the best article I have read on this situation so far.
  10. The Athletic reporting names to watch Justin Fuente, Garrett Riley, and Eric Morriss.
  11. I wish we could have gotten him hired away. Feels strange having to fire one of the best overall record coaches we've ever had.
  12. It doesn't really matter. The last game was the one we needed/wanted. The bowl games are a vacation, if it isn't one for the playoff. The big game was the conference championship.
  13. Crazy that you can win with a QB that is nothing special. According to everyone on this board, only one guy makes a football team.
  14. 47.1 % completion percentage. More INTs than touchdowns. Weren't Ron Shanklin and Joe Greene on that team? How were they sooo good with such a bad QB?
  15. Thought we were talking about football. some things don’t go your way. What do you do?
  16. ESPN/SEC do all they can to keep P5 and G5 separate during Bowl season.
  17. Kewl. Sounds like they changed the rules just to allow NT to slide right in. It's too bad every other school in CUSA was at a disadvantage.
  18. At some point I hope to hear, "Whatever it is - it doesn't matter, let's move on."
  19. I will do my best to be there as well. Hoping to see this school take a step and get an upset.
  20. Not quite. I think the time to part ways with him was back when Kansas State wanted him. I'm just not angry and spiteful at Seth like everyone else who is too slow to realize that if a guy is interviewing for other jobs his heart ain't in this one. I don't care how much money he got. I don't care how much money the next guy gets. This job pays this amount (or more preferably). The money doesn't really make a difference to me. All I want is for this program to win a championship. Go get a hero. Unless it is Lincoln or Nick or someone of that stature, I am hoping you find another 2016 Seth Littrell. By year 3, hopefully they get hired away and we have enough sense not to chase and enough money to find someone better. I'd rather roll the dice with a new coach every 3 years, to be honest. Keeps things fresh. 7 years is a long time to wait for the next breath of fresh air. What other implications you got?
  21. Then I guess it will be no problem convincing them to come here. We've solved the issue.
  22. At this point - sure. We need someone new to blame.
