  1. 1. Chandler Morris-TCU, Grad Student 2. Stone Earle 3. Mooney 4. JD head Could be a special season
  2. Well I read about the two transfer quarterbacks coming to visit, and am honored as an Alum, class of '84 to join this fine forum. But is JD Head still around? I read so much about his potential when he transferred from Louisiana Tech that I was simply curious.
  3. Quarterback Room--- Is JD Head still around, and what about Gebbia?
  4. Ok, if California is mediocre, what does that make UNT after the blowout? Truly to be expected moving up a conference, I guess. But, why was Stone Earle removed for 2nd half??
  5. AMEN!! Wonderful job against Wisconsin in final 4 of NIT!! 13 pts in one half by Wisc. Incredible defense. Thank you Coach Hodge!!
  6. Reflections going into 2023. 1. QB-who knows what is the QB room-Really? Several have potential, but there is ONE known quantity, and that is Austin Aune. 2023 will be a "growth" year into the AAC. Whatever chance UNT has at 6-6 and bowl elg starts here. 2. RB/recievers-an introduction as part of the "Air Raid" offense. UNT has been known for good to great RB-Torre, Dunbar, Cobbs, etc. But not necessarily receivers out of the backfield. 3. OL-seems much success in portal/hs recruits is in this area-Great 4. Defense-3 safeties (smaller/faster) lb - looks pretty good. Need CB, hope some committ 5. WR-praying for along the lines of Jaelon Darden
  7. Seems to have good size. Looks like a mobile QB with an arm. Will be a vastly different offense than the one Littrell employed, with all who touch the ball being expected to also be receivers. I do not believe running backs were considered much of a receiving target for Littrell. Should be very exciting-an offense in continual motion.
  8. Seems like the kid has all the measurables--215, 6-4 wow, Sawyer Robertson I am told was a 4 star coming out of HS, with offers from Texas, USC, Arkansas and Florida State. says an NIL of 43K (Can UNT pay that??)
  9. Looks like Navy, Air Force, Miami (Ohio), Texas State, New Mexico FBS teams pursuing Mr. Brian Nelson. so UNT does have competition for him. seems a fine kid.
  10. Austin Aune has withdrawn from the portal, and come back to UNT. Is he a viable option at age 30 for UNT
  11. On UNT Roster Now, JD Head former started UNC, La Tech, Stone Earle starter Abilene Christian, Grant Gunnells highly toughted from Memphis. What about them??
  12. WR CJ Moore (Class 2021) 3 star 6-4 190 Tulsa, Oklahoma G/C Jarret Kingston (Class 2018) 3 star 6-5 300 Anderson, California S Justin Anderson (Class 2020) 3 star 6-1 180 Menlo Park, Californiah QB Xavier Ward (Class 2021) 3 star 6-2 195 Corona, California QB Chris Irvin (Class 2021) N/A 6-3 185 Coeur D Alene, Idaho and 12 other Wash St players in transfer portal. Perhaps signing a few of these gentlemen will help UNT make faster strides in recruiting??
  13. So far it appears that those UNT lost thus far is a plus-gain given the scholarship limitations for this year. TE's Roberts & Alberging-career backups, as is Dayton LeBlanc. In order to rebuild the roster, Coach Morris needs room to work with. I was glad QB Stone Earle got the opportunity to participate in the Frisco Bowl. and am wondering if Earle, JD Head, or Grant Gunnells is perceived as the starter for next year?? All three were highly touted coming into UNT.
  14. Well, of this lot, Garrett Riley is #1, but I do not get why Graham Harrell is not on the list
  15. From Rob J: class of '82, As UNT fired good in Littrell, lets hire GREAT: 1. Graham Harrell-OC-UVA, prev OC-USC,OC-UNT (all three stellar performances) 2. Garrett Riley-OC-TCU (but it will cost far more than UNT paid Littrell) 3. Skip Holtz-6-1 bowl record in 20 or so years @ La Tech. Far better than UNT history of 2-11 in 13 bowls. current HC-USFL champions-Birmingham
  16. Wow, that is dream clothing for any UNT fan

  17. Graham Harrell HAS the experience to come in right NOW and be HC. Stint at UNT-Huge Success, stint at
USC-set all time school passing records, Stint at West VA-developed top offense.

UNT needs Graham Harrell and needs him now

  18. Wow!! I would bet heavy odds against Aune being drafted as pro teams are leary about drafting older rookies. And at 30 next year, Aune will be the OLDEST ever rookie QB in NFL history, just as he was the oldest QB in FBS college history. I do believe SOME team will give Aune a shot as an undrafted free agent however. Here is pulling for Graham Harrell to be the next UNT HC Rob Jones UNT class of 82
  19. 8-1 with UTA win, perhaps a strong 12-1 to open the season up!!
  20. 100% I agree with MeanGreenTexan on this one. I am sad to see Coach Littrell Fired. After the national embarrassment of Coach Todd Dodge, perhaps the worst HC in UNT history, and the failed tenure of Coach McCartney, Coach Littrell brought a high measure of success to UNT football-setting a school record for head coaches with (now) SIX bowl appearances in SEVEN years. 6 of 7 is AWESOME, folks!! (Though his 0-5 record in those bowls is not). SIX!! Post-season appearances!!! More than ANY UNT head football coach since I was a freshman way back in 1978 !!! Littell #4 HC history I recall HOF Coach Hayden Fry (40-23-3) who coached UNT to a 10-1, and 9-2 records, but ZERO Bowls before leaving for Iowa. Fry is #6 on all time winning list. His replacements were all complete FAILURES until the hiring of Corkey Nelson. Corky Nelson-(48-52-1) over 9 years. Three post-season 1-AA playoff appearances, one victory His Nelson was #3 on the all time UNT HC list. One conference championship #3 on All-Time list Darrell Dickey-(42-64-0, 9 seasons) 4 Sunbelt Conference Championships, 4 bowl appearances, 1 victory #5 overall After Dickey, a long stream of FAILED coaches!!!! And now the firing of the #4 all time HC in UNT history in Seth Littrell. I surely hope UNT does a FAR better job in hiring his replacement, for the replacements of #3,4,and 5 in UNT history were UTTER dissasters. A program can far, far, far worse than Seth Littrell. Now moving on!! Offer the job to Graham Harrell HC West Virginia like right now. Former UNT OC wtih QB Mason Fine, and USC OC setting USC school passing records. Would be a GREAT hire. Face is = UNT fired a very good coach hoping for GREATNESS to follow. Well, then lets hir someone who can be GREAT!!! Rob Jones, UNT grad, '82
  21. Coach Andy Mac, thank you for your fine report!! I do expect UNT to defeat UTSA this time around!! In any event, earning the right to play in the CUSA title game is a great achievement for Coach Littrell!!! I do hope that his contract can be soon extended so that those interested in UNT going into the transfer portal, as well as new HS recruits can have the assurance of Stability past 2023 w the UNT football program. One must remember that Coach Littrell has set a school record for the most bowl appearances, now with the 2022 guanteed bowl at 6!!! No other UNT coach in history is even close!!! QB Austin Aune, the oldest QB in FBS history at 29 (30 next year) has had a special season, and I do hope he considers returning for his Senior year, even though the QB room is stacked with Grant Gunnell, JD Head, and Stone Earle. yours in chess, Rob Jones
  22. Honestly, Mr. Jackson, we can do a whole lot worse than Seth Littrell. Since I entered UNT as a freshman in 1978, I do not believe that in football there has been any post season success!! The great college HOF coach
Hayden Fry did take UNT to 9-2, and 10-1 seasons of which no bowls came our way. Seth Littrell has set the
school record for most bowl appearances at 5. While none have been won, it is better than not going at all.
UNT fired Corky Nelson, and Darrell Dickey, and both times went over a decade before another quality coach
was found. Unless we can get Graham Harrell to come to UNT (Harrell the former UNT, USC and current
West Virginia OC,) to come back as HC, Littrell is pretty dang good.

  23. Gentlemen, Ladies, I bleed green. For 44 years I have waited for post season glory in vain for UNT. The playoffs with Coach Nelson. Bowls, now FIVE of them (a UNT record for a HC) for Coach Littrell. Let's be patient please and give this ride a few more year-extend Coach Littrell!!! (And hopefully QB Austin Aune returns!!
