  1. Why are we running the ball. We need to move it and get points.
  2. Great pick! But, can someone run to the store and buy a can of stick'em for our WR's. These drops are killing us.
  3. Yeah, that's not an answer. Everyone on this board wants UNT to win. I don't believe any real UNT fans would ever root for our team to lose. Our defense has come up with a few big plays, but that not the same as playing sound defense. And, this year's version of the AAC isn't as strong as past years. UNT is competing in the AAC.
  4. Wow! Defense gets a stop, because Tulane got greedy. They should have kicked the field goal.
  5. Our running game has been shut down, and we don't know how hurt Johnson is. Our 4-man backfield rotation may be down to 2. We are now 1 dimensional.
  6. If are defense could stop a middle school offense, we wouldn't have had to go for it on that 4th down, and could have kicked a field goal. Just saying.
  7. Very true. And the more they run the worse we are going to defend it.
  8. Wow! Big play or luck? I don't care. But we got to go get some points if the turnover stands.
  9. Wow. I touched Tulane felt the need to go with a trick play.
  10. Yeah, this is going about how I thought it would. Our defense is still what we thought they were.
  11. KEYS TO THE GAME.... * Chandler must make good audibles at the line and lead UNT on long time-consuming scoring drives. UNT's defense must spend most of the game on the sideline for UNT to have any chance of winning today. * Specialty teams will also have to be very special today. Tulane has to get the ball inside the 20 a lot today. And, UNT has to be able to hit on long field goals.
  12. Too much delusion in this thread. I want to be optimistic too, but the win over Temple has some of you thinking our defense has turned the corner. Is our defense better? Probably. But that doesn't mean they are good. UNT 28 Tulane 47
  13. We're still pushing the "Eugene Levy" Scrappy. We can't even begin to work this kind of promotion until we get a better mascot costume. Our athletic department needs a director of brand marketing and management to ensure that our logos, brands, images, signage, and uniforms are coordinated to promote UNT in the best possible light within the college athletic landscape. If we currently have a person with this type of responsibility, it doesn't show.
  14. I agree. Attendance was trash against Temple. But, I think a lot of that has to do with messaging. Morris needs to appeal to the fans to show up and be loud. He needs to implore the fans to be at DATCU and support this team as they grow into the team we expect them to be. Tell the fans how they can help give our team a real home field advantage, and how important that can be to our success.
  15. We needed this type of win. Temple is bad and was minus their QB, but even so, holding any FBS team to 14 points is good for any defense. Congratulations to Caponi and the defense. Keep improving. On the way home from the game, I listened to Morris' comments about wanting to be even better (after winning 45-14). I like that he still wants more. And I agree. Winning isn't everything, but it needs to be our thing.
  16. I believe UNT will beat Temple tomorrow. Temple is terrible, and I can't wait to get to DATCU for the game. But, if we do crap the bed and lose, this should be our song playing as the fans exit the stadium.....
  17. Not a post-game interview, but it will have to do.......
  18. Navy's slow time-consuming ground game, uncharacteristic penalties, and bad passing held Navy to 27 points. Did you watch the highlights? Navy ran over us, and when they took shots, they found open receivers down field. Please tell me how many 4-down linemen fronts you see us running in these highlights?
  19. Yeah, they mixed it up by using an antiquated 50 defense, which still features a 3-down linemen front. So we lost. Sure offense played a major part in this loss (O-line gave up too many sacks, Rogers didn't recognize or adjust for the blitz, .....), but defense is still a liability, and statistically still the worst run defense & scoring defense in all of the FBS. Someone needs to be held accountable for this mess.
  20. Still no post-game comments from Morris yet. But, if you can stomach it.....
  21. Stoops, Saban, & Swinney are not Air Riad coaches, and they have all won at least one National Title. None of these guys came from the Leach coaching tree. But they do/did employ air raid OC's (Stoops/Mike Leach, Saban/Steve Sarkisian (Norm Chow offense), & Swinney/Garrett Riley,). Briles and Dykes are from the Leach coaching tree, but they have no national titles. Defense still wins championships.
  22. Next week UNT hosts Temple. That game might be our last real chance to pick up another win this season. After that game we play Tulane, Memphis, UTSA, SMU, Tulsa, & UAB. We might beat Tulsa, but will have to do it on the road. 2-10 or 3-9 is a very likely possibility. That should not be acceptable to anyone. I have resigned myself to the fact that nothing can stop that from occurring now. But, once this disgrace of a season is over, this entire staff needs to be evaluated and overhauled. This crap cannot be allowed to continue into next season.
  23. On TV, two backs ran back to the punter at the same time, and the ref called it a motion penalty. Either way, Navy stopped themselves. on that drive.
