  1. Not the most competitive game but enjoying seeing UNT own UTA.
  2. Anyone know how UNT is changing their staffing to account for this new NIL world? Used to be that scouting and connections mattered only with high school. Now it is collegiate-wide. Wouldn't that require tremendously more staffing? And another crazy thought, would there be an opportunity to partner with another school to become their official feeder program. Realizing that we will lose talent regardless, why not be the J.V. team for Alabama? Implement a similar offense and defense and prep players for the foregone conclusion they will leave. But now we tie our university to a larger money and fan base. Also, players have a new incentive to come to UNT because they now have a direct line to a top football program. Little crazy, but just thinking outside the box into how to turn this system into an opportunity. I'm sure there is a reason this could not be done... but crazier things happen these days.
  3. Is it just me or does one of the announcers keep say Kirk Ferentz instead of Kurt Francis?
  4. All sunshine and unicorns this week. 42-19 UNT.
  5. All for giving this D another year. Hell that seems to be UNT’s SOP. But the leash should be very short if the ride rolls into 2024. Now if there is an epic beat down in Dallas tomorrow I do predict change happens sooner. Either way, I’m headed to the game in green with family and friends hoping for a miracle.
  6. Mean Green takes a lopsided L 51-13. Followed by a UNT coaching shakeup to follow ala June Jones… except it’ll only effect the defensive coaching staff. Hope to be proven wrong, but only on the L.
  7. Honestly, am cautiously optimistic here. Run the ball, run the clock, limit our defensive exposure and execute. Hold La Tech under 40 and we can steal a W. Can the coaches pivot the game plan, I really don’t know… but my green Kool-aid glass is half full this morning.
  8. Long season 100%. What is still unknown is just how bad is this team. At the beginning of the season I thought Cal was a “reach game”. Seth doesn’t win this game. Win here and excitement grows we hit on a good hire. Result L FIU and La Tech are games Seth would win. Win these and the coach change is a likely wash. Result L and outlook is poor. ACU - No way we lose to ACU, right? Right?
  9. Seriously, this game is a battle to see who sucks more.
  10. Two fumbles already. Offense is not ready to carry out the lack of a D. This does not bode well for any simple adjustments to fix the glitch. The glitch is not a glitch but a glaring hole.
  11. There were some good changes implemented at the stadium. The water stations were a great idea (yes they ran out of water but that should be an easy fix going forward). Dedicated quick line for drink/snack purchases worked well with 0 wait time. Adult beverage section located with a view of the field. Didn’t see any wait to enter the stadium and was greeted both entering and leaving. Any other improvements made?
  12. This is a strong summary. Would add that I also disliked the constant piped in music cranked to 11 between every play. Couldn’t hold any conversation… which maybe a good thing as the kids in our group couldn’t hear the adults cussing. That said, A+ on the video highlighting the music talent that came from UNT.
  13. I’m honestly good with whatever promo leads to putting more butts in seats. Sure would be nice for folks watching around the country to see a full(ish) stadium of green adorned fans cheering the home team to a W.
  14. Maybe I’m missing something but this doesn’t move the needle much in either direction. He is a one year grad transfer who had two receptions over two years at Miami-Ohio and had a modicum of success last year at Austin Peay. Buy some warm clothes with your NIL money and enjoy the cold weather young man.
  15. Don’t understand why they even bother to review these lousy calls against UNT. The 5 year olds in charge of the cameras can’t capture a good look at any close play.
  16. Can’t be anything but happy for Tylor. Hope he makes bank and has continued success wherever he lands. He delivered some of the best basketball I’ve witnessed at UNT and helped bring back a program that was seemingly stomped out by the TB era. He has heart, seems like a genuinely good person, helped deliver an NIT title and is set to finish his undergrad in May to become a UNT alum. That’s a legacy to be proud of.
  17. Agree whole-heartedly with this statement. Got several generic tees last season at Voertmans. None made it into the rotation. Especially disappointing was a flying worm tee. After one wash the logo was washed out and the shirt shrunk to almost a crop-top. And even the lovely Mrs. GMG93 does not want to see that. So unless it is a name-brand shirt, I'm out on Voertmans.
  18. Crazy proud! An NIT championship banner is going to go up in the Super Pit!!! Unreal!
  19. Always loved her hiring so this is really bittersweet. She never gave off the impression that she would leave when she found success. Hate that success was not found at UNT. Wish only good things for her.
  20. With 26 wins UNT had every right to be invited. The tournament loves a Cinderella story and we have played that role recently. Can’t say it was an oversight but I’m on board with this article that the committee chose wrong. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/heres-what-the-mens-ncaa-tournament-selection-committee-got-right-and-wrong-005100490.html
  21. These changes will occur annually, more so if our results have an uptick. HUB Club is a first class experience and I enjoyed being up there. That said, I drew a line on the cost years ago. Maybe we'll revisit once we get the kids through college. But I'm still impressed that UNT gamedays are as affordable as you want to make it. Get tix in the tail, surprisingly a great view of the game. Arrive early, park on campus, pack some drinks and food and walk around pregaming it up. Hang out at the Alumni Center. So while some prices go up, UNT does a fantastic job of still providing an affordable option. For the life of me, I can't understand why more people in the area overlook going to our games given the cost is the same as a movie.
  22. Think it was back in ‘92 when we were struggling to pull in higher attendance to move out of the SLC. They offered free beer to every student who attended. Broke college kids + beer = a lot of us went. Not sure if this is doable these days but sure made for a decent turnout.
  23. The forecast for the UTSA game was going to be sunny and warm a week away before the game. So I don't completely trust the weather gods just yet. Doesn't matter though... the cold rain didn't hold me back from attending then and certainly won't for a UNT Bowl Game.
