You need to understand Brent Venables and Nick Saban better. For DLs, it’s not tackles - it’s whether or not they disrupt the timing of the offense, thus allowing speedy, athletic linebackers and DBs to make plays. UNT’s 2019 problem was a sore lack of speedy, athletic playmakers at LB and DB. Hamilton was fine. The 2020 Mean Green must find better LBs and DBs; or, trust that a lost season of mistakes will equal good experience for young players. I say look or a JUCO or two at those positions. Championships are won by defenses. We need more playmakers on the backside to justify the good play of lunch pail DLs like Hamilton to win championships.

He played up the road at Carrollton Creekview. He’s a fine example of what can happen if you try harder, even as a free agent non-draftee.

The coaching staff and Seth Littrell can get him to re-commit if they just try harder.

UNT can win if they just try harder.

He’s not NFL talent. Neither was Guyton.
