That Western game in 2019 had 0 energy, Charles Bassey just shut down anything.

What makes you say that Mitchell wasn't disciplined?
He had to be walked to class, so many off the court stuff and would not fit well with what Ross/Grant wanted in terms of play style etc

Stone is an F in my book, his production rate is around 4% in an average of 18.5 minutes per game. He plays hot potato with the ball.

How was Mitchell not a good player? He should have been POTY as a freshman and probably didn't only because he was an underclassman. His sophomore season was a disappointment, but it was for the whole team.
Mitchell is the best athlete, in terms of skill and athleticism, this program has ever seen. The thing is, I'm not sure he would be able to work with a Grant/Ross with the discipline aspect.
I picked Mitchell because he would dominate this conference, but Hamlet was something that we also don't have right now and how he could influence outcomes of games

He was the G5 nightmare. Only posted two consecutive losing seasons. His second and third year which is excusable and then 2019 and the covid mess of 2020. Never good enough to get hired away, never bad enough to be an obvious fire. Final record of 113-111 sums his career. Almost good but not quite.
Shared a title in 2006 when Troy beat them in Troy 21-20, had a shot to win Sun Belt outright in 2012 and got blown out by A-State in the season finale. 2018 had the CUSA title game at home and lost to UAB 27-25 after beating UAB on that same field 27-3 the week before.
Figure losing last five vs WKU sunk him though going 0-4 vs the CUSA newcomers couldn't have helped him either.
Fun fact, he was there 18 years and the AD who hired him also fired him.
Yeah that entire MTSU athletic program, when Kermit was there, was all hired around the same time? That’s so weird to think about

I know I am, going to shoot some HS football on Friday and stay Saturday there. I know of like 6 fans so far, who else?

We all know the committee probably won’t make the right selections of at large bubble teams, so winning the tournament should obviously be our goal, but it’s worth noting this is like the 10th or so mid major/non P6 win over a P6 team. I know it’s only week 1, but it’s interesting to think about.

I’ll be tuned into the Michigan game tomorrow, that should be telling of how they are IMO

I like this tournament way better than that crappy Bahamas tournament from last year.
You’re telling me you don’t like buying FLOHOOPS and watching the same 3 commercials about the Bahamas each timeout???

Also went to buy single game tickets last night behind our bench (like I did for several games last year) and all were grayed out as though sold. So, decided to stay at the house (don’t judge) and saw that area with quite a few empty seats without the white sleeves for season tickets— what give??? Is the AD saving them for mini packages or hoping they are sold for season tickets. The AD should release them day of for the game.
I know I’m section 122, multiple people were out of town and not there or other commitments. Usually more full for the first 6-7 rows in 122 and 121

Miss that dude here, was so explosive and complimented Mason Fine so well.
If the chargers coach would’ve taken him out in a blowout game last year, he wouldn’t of torn his ACL and been out so long.
This was awesome to watch live!

Did ESPN2 just dump the game? Who the heck subscribes to ESPNEWS?
I do because I like watching ACL Cornhole during my free time

Kevin Wood was not dressed out for the game but not sure if that changes anything of freshmen playing
-
I’ll be there but alone shooting on the sidelines.
Each and every year it’s progressively harder to get people to go to the SMU games, and with it being 8:00 on a Friday night not in Denton, nobody wanted to go lol and others out of town.

I hope we have 3K.
We should have 5K minimum.
Agreed completely, I would hope we have several hundred students with the promos and such they’ve been doing around campus and on social media.

MSU 1 of 20 on 3-pt shots. Not a good year for MSU athletics.
And 65% from the free throw line.
Nt has learned in the past that free throws lose games quicker than anything else.

Any attendance predictions?
I say 3.2K, not expecting much and I won’t ever expect much unless we actually have consistent crowds. Which won’t happen even if we make a sweet 16 run.
I do hope I’m wrong

So Tylor Perry isn’t expected to play well against good teams? What was all that $$$ for then?
I never said that, just saying that USC is a really good team.
He also played pretty well once he got settled in. It was his first official game and it wasn’t a cupcake game whatsoever.
He is going to quickly earn those big bucks

Double digit loss to a USC team without Bronny.
USC is arguably the best team in the PAC12

I was totally aboard with the hiring of Burton, but in my opinion this showed a definite lack of class.
Those that did not watch, Burton's brother was on the broadcast; so he definitely knows the situation and he stated Burton went into the game with the goal of sitting a meaningless scoring record.
NT played starters most of the game and keep a pressing defense.
If he keeps this up, NT is going to have a tough time finding weak ooc opponents.
The only justification for this strategy is to build interest in the program. This may work until they quickly run into a better team. This reminds me of Insell at MTSU, who used to and probably still does play his starters till the end of the game no matter what the score is.
As long as the program isn’t toxic, coaches are coaching and we are winning, I don’t see much of a problem.
