The Other Top 25 Preseason: North Texas Preview
UNT Texas Hooligan replied to BillySee58's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Need to shore up that perimeter defense. It was frustrating watching teams get hot from deep and consistently chip away at leads by constantly knocking down 3's. -

❇️ UNT’s Jason Bean/ Austin Aune ranked #35
UNT Texas Hooligan replied to PlummMeanGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
I find it interesting that they have a dual quarterback situation ranked so high, especially ahead of players like Sam Ehlinger and Bo Nix. I also found it interesting that they focused most of their analysis on Aune rather than Bean. -

Coach Meyer on Teams Struggling
UNT Texas Hooligan replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
🐐. And he's right. Every single time you see a team struggling, those are the things that pop up. We of all schools should know this as it stared us in the face against Portland State. -
What have we done wrong?
UNT Texas Hooligan replied to NorthTexasSportsNetwork's topic in Mean Green Football
Despite all of this, we found our starting QB and discovered that several of our underclassmen were ready to step up into starting rolls in what is considered a "free" year. Meanwhile, ODU loses a year of experience and several of their players decided to transfer out specifically because of the school's decision to cancel the season. While no school was going to do well financially this year with all of the attendance limitations, we were definitely smarter for not canceling the season, even with all of the cancelations/postponements we've had to endure. -
Is Playing As An Independent an Option?
UNT Texas Hooligan replied to TCC Mean Green's topic in Mean Green Football
I hate this conference but going independent is not better. Notre Dame makes it work because they have a massive following and are a brand name. NMSU went independent because their program was hemmoraging money. I prefer regional conference alignments better than going indy.- 57 replies

That was actually a pathetic move by their President and coach to call for us to forfeit for not wanting to go into El Paso. Like you are still UTEP, no one is ducking you. What's even more pathetic is that some in our conference agreed with them and thought we should forfeit for not wanting to play there.
-
UTEP didn't want to do the same. The wheels are falling off in El Paso and UTEP now knows that if they don't play outside of El Paso, they will not play another game. They are requesting 4 more mobile morgues for all of the bodies while hospitals are at capacity. Looks like their President and Dana Dimel finally stuck their heads out and realized how bad the situation is in their city. https://kvia.com/news/el-paso/2020/11/10/amid-spike-in-covid-19-deaths-el-paso-texas-requests-four-more-trailers-in-addition-to-six-mobile-morgues-already-on-the-ground/

In a move that surprises no one, Shedeur Sanders has flipped his commitment from FAU to Jackson State. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/30268621/espn-300-qb-shedeur-sanders-joins-dad-deion-sanders-jackson-state

I really hope we get that Wichita State game back on

Such a slimy look from UTEP. Don't get what you want, immediately point blame on the opposing party and refuse to work out any middle of the road agreements. Weak. Such a new low that school has taken after Natalicio.
-
Yeah, I initially thought it was a troll account because I couldn't believe a school President would blatantly throw another school under the bus like that without presenting all of the facts but then I saw the official UTEP account quote her and it was real. Some of their fans also think it's BS and think we should have to forfeit and some wonder why they don't come to Denton to play the game.
-
UTEP's President is posting her statement all over Twitter trying to put all of the blame on UNT, not even acknowledging UNT's offer to host the game and pay for UTEP's travel expenses to Denton. Quite a shady spin job from her regarding who is actually the one "backing out"

We are longer on the Bottom 10 list. Not even honorable mention. We did put Muts in the Top (Bottom?) 3.
