I don't buy it. Before the season even started Coach K wrote a signed statement saying all 357 DI teams should make the tournament. Then after the first 4 games of the season where they got beat by Michigan State and curb stomped Illinois, he issues a statement basically saying he wanted to end the season because he "didn't feel safe" because of Covid. He the goes and cancels their out of conference game against Gardner-Webb, and finally concluded the season by saying he feels that everyone in their conference tournament should make the NCAA tournament. This all before the hammer finally dropped and they got Covided out of playing the rest of the season. So basically, Coach K goes the entire season saying either Duke makes the tournament or he wants to cancel their season which they eventually do. Anything to secure his reputation at the expense of an ACC tournament experience for his players. The guy is insufferable.

I personally wouldn't mind either Skip Holtz or Bill Clark. Nobody knows how to do more with less than those two, though Miles did leave a pretty good foundation of highly rated high school recruits. In order to turn things around quicker than anticipated, the new coach is really going to have to hit juco recruiting hard since Miles mainly recruited high school players. However, this is all dependent on who the new AD is. Unless they completely switch it up and get an out of the box thinker in charge, they will go with yet another P5 offensive coordinator which has already failed miserably multiple times in the past.

Given how bad Duke was this season, this is absolutely a cop out by Coach K to have an asterisk on not making the tournament this year by saying they were out due to Covid and not knocked out because they are hot garbage. His fragile ego can't take it. The constant excuses he's been making all season and saying every team in the country should make the tournament backs this up. Coach K has really been on one this year.

We do have the "easier" side of the bracket but at this point and the way we ended the regular season, I'm not even sure we can get a result against ODU. Unless we suddenly develop an inside game or finally catch fire from the perimeter, I just don't feel the same confidence about this team that I had last year. Anything can happen and I hope I'm wrong but they really need to turn around their ice cold shooting.

I knew this team's one dimensional offense would eventually come to bite us in the ass. Played through an entire season and we still don't know how to beat their zone defense.

Garbage. Absolute garbage. You can build a house with all the bricks we've shot from 3 tonight. Way to end this season with a whimper

Athletes and coaches from the pros down always read what is said about them, whether they admit it or not. They are some of the most self-conscious people with an "I'll show you" attitude.

UTEP split with the 2 worst teams in the West and got rolled by the 2 top teams in the West. They aren't winning the tournament. KU is obviously having a down year (though most of their losses are to ranked teams), so I have a feeling teams in the top of the conference would admittedly beat them. As someone who also watches KU basketball, they just aren't good this year.

KU always starts slow and rallies at the end. Always. No surprise here.

This team needs to wake the hell up at halftime. Too many stupid turnovers, way too lax in possession, mental lapses on defense. We can't and shouldn't lose this game.

Agreed. I said their game against UH was high risk high reward because now that they got blown out, many brackets now have them out of the tournament and definitely not having C-USA a 2 team league

Marshall really tried to go toe to toe with us shooting up 3's and came up short. I'm feeling very confident finishing this season out.

Marshall are a hard team to gauge. They've split with schools like ODU and La Tech as well as gotten swept by WKU. Their canceled series with Rice would have been really telling. Now, they haven't played a game in almost 2 weeks (as we haven't either), so it's hard to pin them.
