  1. Fau defense was digging their heels. But they're statistically meh on defense. I love our pace right now. It's in our rhythm. We don't need to push with 25 foot passes though. That's not who we are and the shit gotta go. **Also, and I know yesterday I won't sit here and critique, but you gotta start doing inbound own basket sets. Just getting it in is a lost opportunity, and we have settled for just gettin it in. We need to jr high stack to start off? I can definitely help with that.
  2. As far as brand identity, keeping regionality intact as you can, and having an ultra competitive leauge... this would be ideal.
  3. I think Goldin is big, skilled, and soft. Making Goldin beat us seems like a good approach.
  4. Oh, sure. We're shit. We have too many that thirst trapped for the purple school or the orange school or maroon school, etc, but have a UNT degree hanging in their home. Pitiful douchey dudes wearing whitewashed jeans and boots while driving a Honda civic.
  5. We did. And I could sit here and critique Ross here and there, but he's done a good job patchworking us into a respectable product.
  6. Have to ball deny Davis. Face guard any time it's appropriate. Force anyone else to beat us. Anyone.
  7. I loved it. Ross' energy came to the surface. Need more of it.
  8. This really isn't a versus scenario. But since moving to the west coast I have caught 10x more games out here on TV than years past. MWC administrators have figured it out. They POUR into basketball. Heavily. I caught a lot more MWC football, too. Their football attendance is meh and the energy in the stadium is meh, similar to the AAC. But their basketball is next level. And it has been for some time. And not just the level of play, but the fan commitment to just showing up. It's phenomenal, to be honest. The energy and environment rivals any conference, any. What did they do that we, as a basketball conference, can emulate? If I'm the commissioner of the AAC I'm scheduling a summer meeting with their commish. Same for AD'S and pro sport presidents. Sit down and pick the brain of their peers.
  9. Man, I hope AScott is good. Hopefully nothing overly serious.
  10. Dang... didn't know we had Side Show Bob on the docket today.
  11. You're implying that Eric Morris is/was as good as it gets as for applicants at North Texas. If not, what are you saying? As for players moving on and off our roster... our peers are making it happen. The only numbers that matter right now in the evaluation process is 5-7. Is Morris going to improve on that. WE have no reason to legitimately believe so. Unless, you do? Do you?
  12. Bno backup for my POV? We lost all of our offensive production. What proven production has that been replaced with? Answer: not much. We lost our best safety on a terrible defense and have brought in minimal additions to bolster the product. SL needed to go. All I'm saying is that Eric Morris won't be the person to take SLs success and build on it. That picture is getting pretty clear. As for who I would have brought in....terrible rebuttal. Poor UNT. We just can't be good enough for anything or anyone. So we are forced to settle with whoever stumbles upon our doorstep. Terrible, terrible mindset. But to play into your question: Ken Niumatalolo.
  13. This is offensive. Defending a woman takes away her right to defend herself. It suggests that women are inherently weaker than men and incapable of self-defense.
  14. UNT stays home from the NCAA tourney unless they get the AQ. But to play with your scenario, they both have better overall records and a .500 leauge play record. Plus, they both have 20 win seasons. They are fringe NCAA teams, and rightfully so. To me, the set standard to get into the NCAA tournament is a .500 leauge record and 20 wins. If you can't check those boxes then your season doesn't deserve an NCAA look.
  15. Can't be. Their handshake is lame. They clearly despise each other. He has video evidence.
  16. I have no idea to what kind of legitimacy this has...BUT...How about they both grow tf up? Instead of being a mitigator of fragility, Ross should have taken them into a room alone and told them to shut up and nut up OR leave. Then, I'd give credit to Ross. Otherwise, he's pandering to bullshit.
  17. Omg dude... Lol. How much are his feelings hurt his handshake isn't cool? No normal fan digs for stuff like this. You are definitely a parent or a cousin. Maybe a disgruntled HS coach? Hell, is this you Jason?
  18. Good insight. If both Rubin and CJ stays healthy we are a 20+ win team and a probable top 4 seed. 20-10 feels right. If we would've locked in during some of those noncons I believe another +4 in W/L could've easily happened... tough losses vs Fordham, LSU, Boise and St John's. 24-6 to end the reg season was a possibility and the talent suggests that. But a season isn't judged by the what could have happened. A promising AAC showing is important. Stacking another 20 win season is more important.
  19. Now that the regular season is over I thought it'd be interesting to look back to see how the newbie programs held vs "better" competition... Old Guard SMU - 4-4 Memphis - 3-4 USF - 8-1 Tulsa - 4-5 ECU - 1-7 Tulane - 1-8 Wichita - 3-4 Temple - 3-5 Overall: 27-38 New Guard FAU - 9-2 CLT - 6-5 UAB - 8-3 UNT - 9-2 Utsa - 3-8 Rice - 4-7 Overall: 39-27 I found it funny when their fans started to openly look down their nose at the programs joining the AAC. Well...
