  1. We're 154-80 over the last 7 years. Not refuting your point. Just saying.
  2. Wait until school choice inevitably gets passed one day.
  3. Whatever we do, we have to recruit the SF/PF role with tenacity. Not sure how the roster will shape up, but landing the most athletic, springy and long 6'5"-6'8" guys as possible is never a bad idea. These are the dirty work players, the better defenders, the residual rebounders, etc. They are the foundation players. Then piece around that foundation with very good bigs* and pg's. *if you can't snag a very quality big, go get another 6-7"-6'8" guy. Don't go get 6'11" just to have 6'11" on the bench.
  4. He played uninspired defense. I don't care about his 20 points on 20 shots. Replace him with a junkyard dawg.
  5. I understand the lack of attendance in football. Too many let downs. Too much inconsistency year to year. The disconnect in attendance in basketball is pretty embarrassing. In the last 7 years we are 154-80. That is an average year of 22-11. I blame the students and/or the people that are supposedly doing the outreach to students. If my recollection is accurate, I only recall there being a wave of outreach for the smug game. Every game should have that level of outreach.
  6. We could. Those 5 @ games in 1995 would net the football program around 7.5M dollars if scheduled today. Which is more than the American pays us. Then try to schedule 7 wins with the remainder of your slots and hope to pick off a win or 2 in one of those money games. Or go full body bag games and try to swipe some home and homes or 2 for 1s and pitch our schedule to recruits. This is the FSU model to relevance. Or just curl up and die.
  7. Nah. Less possessions for the opposition = less points. It's not always about the defense, but about limiting the opportunities of the other offense.
  8. Precisely. That's why I have been an advocate of making an internal decision as a program and university to move in that direction for our football program.
  9. I can't speak for everyone or for anyone. But we are trying to stack success... 20+ win seasons, reg season 🏆, conference tournament 🏆, NCAA tournament appearances, etc. We are trying to give our alum a reason to be proud of their university while shining a positive light on our university. If that one day leads to a deep run and a natty I would be elated, but I'm also realistic. So, given that, we can recruit junk yard dawgs, play like snails, slap the floor and rely on defense. It's a frustrating product to defend and it's a winning formula for us.
  10. This. All of this. But also winning. Also, the athletic department has, as far as I've been able to tell, is filled with people looking for a "better gig" from top to bottom. Until we get someone at the top that WANTS to be at UNT and knows what he/she is doing it will always be more of the same.
  11. Hence the desperate need to vacate the hollow chambers of our current facility.
  12. I'm not mad at them for this L. When Seton Hall plays well they're a top 16 seed in the tournament. We experienced Seton Hall playing well. Good year riddled with injuries. Onto year 2. GMG
  13. Which makes it that much funnier... He left a NIT Championship team and went to a squad you know were all bumpin gums about winning a natty just to get bounced in the first round of the tournament in which he won last year. It's just funny. While he's romanticiszing a round orange ball on X, we're still playing.
  14. It's not him. It's the system. So, when an opportunity rises to laugh or mock the system I am going to. Perry here is simply collateral damage.
  15. Yuuuuuuuuuuup. I understand don't bite the hand that feeds you. But this is next level. Simpin
  16. Listening to the SDSU beatwriter talk about their game vs UAB, he opened up his remarks with, "SDSU played UAB, a team from a much weaker conference than the MWC, the AAC."
  17. Dusty May lost them this game. In a foul situation he chooses to keep Vlad in the game and he shoots 60something percent from the line. Of course they ball deny everyone but him and he goes and clunks 2 off the rim that would've sealed it up. Really bad situational coaching.
  18. The NBA on tnt crew were talking about this after the game and his they can't let fouls be reviewed. However, Kenny Smith threw out the idea of giving coaches 1 challenge at the 2 minute mark of the 2nd half where anything can be challenged and reviewed. I like that idea a lot.
