Sounds like the 12 year old kid sitting in front of us at the Tulane MBB game on Saturday. He was betting on the game on his phone and showing his mom the bets he was placing. I don't think he was old enough to get into a PG13 movie. Mom was just "okay honey" and didn't say anything to stop him.

Imagine the concourse exactly as it was before it was closed in portions for two years and you've seen it after the 2 season long construction. No idea what they were doing. I'd guess it was something like sprinkler system upgrades or other mechanical because they didn't repaint or resign anything. But they still can't figure out how to open any entrances facing N Texas Blvd even with the construction done. Love walking all the way up Highland to the A entrance. 🙄

They're attempting to keep the energy up the same way any NBA game would with high tempo, upbeat, and hopefully (but less today) current music. If youve been to a Mavs game in the last two decades it's totally the same. Honestly tonight, vs the LSUS game, the music energy regressed. I made a comment earlier in the thread and got some down votes, but we regressed back to more hits of the 1970's. I'm sorry, but YMCA isn't going to hype anyone born after 1990. At LSUS, the DJ by the Free Frosty sign was getting into it and the energy was good. I know we had a smaller band that game, so maybe they gave him more free reign to play current upbeat music. Today it was average at best, but at least not entirely quiet like it has been at some games in previous seasons. All teams are doing this, it's part of making your arena a challenging place to play. Schools are pumping in music, crowd noise, sound effects, etc. Go read the thread on Sicem365 about the new Baylor basketball arena. People were measuring 120db or more during the first game there. If you want a nice quiet game to listen to the announcers, subscribe to ESPN+ and sit at home. You can always bring noise cancelling headphones or earbuds and listen to the feed in a headset at the game. That's not unheard of.

Figured I'd comment on this, since I've loudly proclaimed how annoyingly long the construction was taking... but I noticed that the ongoing construction on the Concourse at the Super Pit was done at some point in the past few weeks (yes I missed the last two home games before LSUS). You can now walk all the way around the Pit's concourse again! And they have snack bars open on each side (no crazy lines today like some earlier preseason OOC games). Now, if they'll just open the G or F entrance at the next game for all the Fouts parking people who walk across the Highland St intersection crosswalk.

It is less of an issue when they don't close all the entrances that face Fouts parking. The current two-season-long concourse construction/refresh at the Pit is taking longer than it took to build the entire Pit. Still don't understand what is even being done at this point.

I love that the school sent an email to get fans to buy tickets to the tourney in the past day or two. I hate to say it, but I'm not seeing much that leads me to believe we'll make much of an AAC tourney appearance, if at all.

The team looks like they're done. Fire up the bus.

Not sure why, but we put this game in our calendars for 5p. We pulled up to The Pit and both my wife and I were like "man there's not many people in the parking lot"... Ended up going to the Christmas Tree lighting at the Square in downtown Denton. We'll try to better manage our calendars for the next one! 😬 GMG

The lady at the hotel front desk chuckled when I said we were here for the UNT at Tulsa game.

Buggs sorta had two big mistakes at the end there that could have turned the game easily. Either way, thanks for giving me a reason to turn on a basketball game mid day at the office. 😬🤫

Thank you. Outside of the very geriatric-aged workforce who lived their lives in the SWC years and are primarily located within 4 hours of DFW, it doesn't mean much more than having a degree from any number of private sub-10k undergrad colleges in the country.

I still have no idea who distributes those white banners on the seats. I've had season tickets for multiple seasons in 121, and no one has put those banners on my seats. I sit by other people who have 2-4 season tickets, and they also don't have banners on their seats. Who knows if the regularly empty white-tagged seats even have season tickets attached to them at this point?
