    I completely agree with this.

    except for Will Khuene.

If Will Khuene is in consideration for meaningful playing time then things are bad.

    VERY BAD.

I mean, we cant seem to get Bean or Aune to string together multiple consecutive scoring drives. They have flashes, but why not give the kid a shot at this point?

Do we know if there is Covid or any other issues with any of these?  I don't recall him being this way in the past.  We ran with Fine as a true freshman.  Darden and Bussey played extensively as underclassmen and there are other examples.  This is such an odd year, that I don't want us to jump to conclusions.  SL has always been pretty quiet regarding injuries and eligibility issues.

Lol that was due to there being no one else on the roster who could step up. Darvin Kidsey was our best returning receiver and Littrell cut him. Also remember, those were not "Littrell's guys". All the upperclassmen now were recruited by Littrell and were there for "the turnaround" and have also turned back to #OldDenton as well.

Maybe a bit of a clickbait title but it seems to me that Darden might be this year's Carlos Harris....

Now obviously he doesn't have the attitude issues of Harris and is clearly a hard worker, but we aren't throwing it to anyone else. Is it trust? Is it lack of ability? We have all these stud WR that we've signed over the last couple years and they're not doing much/dropping passes.

I'm afraid that as bad as it is, if teams start to double Darden(which they will), it's gonna get even worse. Harris was the only quality receiver(even if he was a douche in the process) on some really bad teams and it feels like Darden is starting to get that way.

We seriously need somebody else to step up or I fear Darden is gonna set single season receiving records on a 1-10 team....

Look at 2013 what Derek Thompson had in Sr Breelan Chancellor and Sr. Darnell Smith with So Carlos Harris as the slot 3rd option. Move forward to 2015 and he is the only option.

2017/2018 we had Guyon and Bussey with Darden as the slot option 3. Now in 2020, its just darden carrying the team as well. You are right that both of these slot options had to be "the guy" after their complementing wideouts left.

I do agree though that darden is the better player between the two and his work ethic is great.

You are outside your mind if you think Reeder did a better job than Ref. The defense got worse in 2019 because the offense got much, much, worse. It is the same phenomenon that struck our defense in 2014 after being lights out in 2013. You may try to claim it is because we lost Orr and Trice but the fact of the matter is, we scored a defense touchdown against Texas and put the clamps on June Jones to the point that he took his ball and went home. It wasn’t until the offense showed they were incapable of sustaining a drive that the defense began to falter. The fall from Harrell to Reeder was tremendously worse than anything Ref did.

I stand behind that 100%. Mason Fine still put up 3000+ yards and 29 TDs. The offense was putting up 30 points per game. Yes it was down, but the offense wasnt coached by Graham Harrell any longer. The defense under Reffett had 1 good season where they didnt allow 30+ points per game. And in that regard, I will say it was because the 2018 offense was so killer and kept them off the field.

I’m not feeling very pro-Seth today but last season he showed he would hold people accountable. Bodie Reeder knows, as well as others.

He waited until December to let Reeder go. We all knew like week 4 that it wasn’t getting any better. And Reeder was the better of the two coordinators. Reffett needed to go after SMU and Houston obliterated us.

It has been. Aune has been getting crucified on here for his slight misses but Darden had two big drops (loss still not his fault at all), White had two big drops, Burns had two big drops on 3rd/4th down, and Simpson had a big drop that could’ve given us a manageable 3rd down after a big sack when the game was closer.

Aune has been far from perfect, and he does deserve a fair share of blame for the offense’s struggles at times, but if we had a good defense we’d be looking at things a lot differently. People won’t believe this, but Aune is in position to possibly be all-conference compared to what the other QBs in the league are doing. He’s gonna keep getting hated on unless we’re winning, especially by people who wanted Bean to be the starter coming in.

I was in the Aune camp. I think this is on the WRs more than him. You pointed out drops everywhere. Maybe it’s on our WR coach. Filani and Harrell just had that juju together and it transpired to the players. Rico was a 2 star out of HS and he might have been NFL ready. These guys all have more raw talent than Rico did, but they are not polished as he was.
